Create Sprint in JIRA
There are some following steps to create a sprint in JIRA, so according to that, the team will work on it to complete
the sprint within sprint duration. Such are:
Step 1:
Click on the “Backlog” option showing in the JIRA dashboard for your project.
Step 2:
Click on the “Create Sprint” button to create a sprint.
Step 3:
Adding the issues or tasks or stories to your sprint by navigating from backlog or by using drag & drop issues or
tasks from backlog to your sprint.
Step 4:
Then the sprint will be created in JIRA for the software application.
3. Start Sprint in JIRA
There are following steps involves starting a sprint in the JIRA tool to complete the tasks or issues
regarding the software development. Such are:
Step 1:
Click on the “Backlog” option showing in the JIRA dashboard for your project.
Step 2:
Find the required sprint to start and click on the “Start Sprint” button.
Step 3:
Update the respective fields like the name of the sprint, duration of the sprint, start date, end date and
sprint goal for the given sprint with appropriate data.
Step 4:
Click on the “Start” button.
Step 5:
Then the Sprint will be started successfully and we also track the team’s progress on that sprint.
4. Add Issues in Sprint
These are the following procedures for adding an Issue or task to the particular sprint, which are:
Step 1:
Navigate to the “Backlog” tab on the JIRA dashboard.
Step 2:
To do drag & drop operation on issues that want to be added from backlog to your sprint or in a second way to
right-click on issues in a backlog and select the appropriate sprint where we want to add it.
Step 3:
Then the particular task or issue will be added to the respective sprint.
