One of the most important and oldest trophies in the history of sports. A select
portion of the winning players, coaches, management, and club staff names are
engraved on its bands, which is unusual among trophies.. Earning the nickname
"Stovepipe Cup" due to the unnatural height of all the bands.

Jimmy Piersall was eccentric to say the least; his life became the basis for the
book & movie Fear Strikes Out, which chronicles his battle with bipolar disorder.
Some of Piersall's stunts include, walking up to bat wearing a Beatles wig, talking
to the monument of Babe Ruth at Yankee Stadium, and climbing a grandstand
roof to heckle an umpire.
The granddaddy of all his stunts occurred while playing for the Mets; in the fifth
inning of a game against the Phillies, Piersall hit the 100th home run of his career
and did what?
He ran all the bases in the correct order but backwards

The gentleman on the left is a treble winner and one of the most celebrated
strikers to grace the premier league. The gentleman on the right has been hailed
as the “Michael Jordan” of cricket by former US President Barack Obama. Had
things gone differently we might have seen both of them line up for Trinidad and
Tobago in a World Cup.

Think about this one for a second and you can probably figure out it's origins.
The moniker of "Mike, Sam and Will" grew out of a need to identify Xs in a 4-3
defensive scheme.
In the 3-4 defense the extra X is called the "Mo".
Also give me funda for the origin of X.

The X and Y formations were both unsurprisingly coined with money in mind.
The X defense was created by Philadelphia Eagles defensive coach Jerry
Williams in 1960 as a way to stop Chicago Bears tight end Mike Ditka. As you may
have guessed, it contains five defensive backs. The Y adds a sixth defensive back
to the equation. Two Xs make a Y.
Math and football can work together.

A ____ ____ pass, also known as a shot play, is a very long forward pass in American
football, typically made in desperation, with only a small chance of success. The term
became widespread after a December 28, 1975, NFL playoff game between the Dallas
Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings, when Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach (a
Roman Catholic and fan of The Godfather Part II (1974), whose character Fredo had
popularized the phrase) said about his game-winning touchdown pass to wide receiver Drew
Pearson, "I closed my eyes and said a ____ ____. "The expression goes back at least to the
1930s, in which decade it was widely used publicly by two former members of Notre Dame's
Four Horsemen, Elmer Layden and Jim Crowley. Originally meaning any sort of desperation
play, a "____ ____" gradually came to denote a long, low-probability pass, typically of the
"alley-oop" variety.Give blanks.

The origin for this term is thought to be from a card game but to believe that would
be wrong.

1. Used when talking about whether something is easily the best.
2. When a team or a player of any sport wins something with very little effort/easily

It was an easy decision, not close at all, requiring no effort, but why is that “hands
down”? It sounds like it might be from a card game, but it actually comes from
horse racing. When a jockey has a race in the bag, he can relax his hold on the
reins and stop urging the horse so hard.

● Like FIBA-sanctioned Y, games are played on a half-court.
● Standard two- and three-point shots apply; the three-point line is the same distance as in the
NBA. (Y uses the FIBA arc, with shots from outside the arc worth 2 points and all others worth
1.)
● Unique to X are three "four-point zones" on a circle 30 feet (9.1 m; 910 cm) away from the
basket. One is on the midline of the court; the other two are 40 degrees away from the
midline. To score four points, a player's foot must be touching any part of a circle.
● The shot clock runs 14 seconds, as opposed to 12 in Y.
● To win, a team must score 50 or more points, and lead by at least two points (hence there is
no overtime). In Y, the game ends by rule after 10 minutes of play, or if a team reaches at
least 21 points, with no required victory margin. If the teams are tied, Y uses an untimed
overtime with the shot clock enforced, and the first team that scores 2 points in the overtime
wins.
Defensive rebounds must be cleared if the ball touched the rim. If the ball did not touch the
rim, defensive rebounds do not need to be cleared. In Y, all defensive rebounds must be
cleared.
Steals do not have to be cleared, unlike in Y.
In both X and Y, the ball is cleared when the player with the ball establishes both feet behind
the 3-point line. The ball can be cleared by dribbling or passing.
A defensive rebounder who makes a direct pass that clears the ball must clear the lane and
re-establish himself before his team's shot or pass hits the rim.
A number of rules are given above speaking about a variation of basketball the rules differ
from a variation Y’s rules as stated by FIBA. X is a basketball league which is founded by a
famous hip hop musician Z. The league was started in 2017.

X was the first sport to be played on the grounds of the All England Club a
quintessentially English pastime where players have to knock a wooden ball
through hoops using a mallet type implement. It's a highly skilled game but once
tennis was introduced to Wimbledon in 1877 interest in it receded. For sentimental
reasons, it is still retained in the official title of the championships and a small lawn
for the sport still exists on the grounds although too small for top-class
competitions.

The phrase dates back to the time long before the mobile phone era, when coin-operated pay telephones
were commonplace. While a mobile phone today belongs to a person (the owner) who can be identified
via phone records, old landlines phones belonged to a place or location. The distinction may seem
obvious, but it is important to keep in mind in order to understand why a public pay phone was the snitch's
favorite reporting device. It is almost impossible to trace a specific call originating from a pay telephone
located in a public place to a specific person if the caller declines to identify him- or herself.
For several decades spanning the middle of the 20th century the initial charge for a call from a pay phone
was 10 cents (a US dime). The coins were inserted into the phone through a slot on the device. Hence “X”
initially meant simply placing a call from a pay phone. Later on the phrase acquired the special meaning of
snitching from a pay phone because that device was used so often by anonymous informants. Finally, the
slang phrase came to mean any act of snitching, regardless of the means. Even though we seldom use
pay telephones now (and those that still exist do not rely on coins for operation), the final meaning of the
expression has stuck.
A “X” in basketball is the same thing as an assist. For those unfamiliar, a
basketball assist occurs when one player makes a pass to a teammate which
leads that teammate to score a basket. By making the pass to the teammate, the
player has “assisted” in the making of the basket.
Give me X and phrase.

The odd thing about field hockey is that due to its development in a area
dominated by a group of people having a common quality the rest of the people
cannot play the sport in their natural way and have to adjust to the customs set by

prevention were the primary reasons for banning Y from IHF-sanctioned

  • 20. 4 Jimmy Piersall was eccentric to say the least; his life became the basis for the book & movie Fear Strikes Out, which chronicles his battle with bipolar disorder. Some of Piersall's stunts include, walking up to bat wearing a Beatles wig, talking to the monument of Babe Ruth at Yankee Stadium, and climbing a grandstand roof to heckle an umpire. The granddaddy of all his stunts occurred while playing for the Mets; in the fifth inning of a game against the Phillies, Piersall hit the 100th home run of his career and did what?

  • 36. 9 The X and Y formations were both unsurprisingly coined with money in mind. The X defense was created by Philadelphia Eagles defensive coach Jerry Williams in 1960 as a way to stop Chicago Bears tight end Mike Ditka. As you may have guessed, it contains five defensive backs. The Y adds a sixth defensive back to the equation. Two Xs make a Y. Math and football can work together. Give me X&Y. (Bonus for sport)

  • 45. Only players to be NBA & FIBA champs at the same time
  • 46. 12 A ____ ____ pass, also known as a shot play, is a very long forward pass in American football, typically made in desperation, with only a small chance of success. The term became widespread after a December 28, 1975, NFL playoff game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings, when Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach (a Roman Catholic and fan of The Godfather Part II (1974), whose character Fredo had popularized the phrase) said about his game-winning touchdown pass to wide receiver Drew Pearson, "I closed my eyes and said a ____ ____. "The expression goes back at least to the 1930s, in which decade it was widely used publicly by two former members of Notre Dame's Four Horsemen, Elmer Layden and Jim Crowley. Originally meaning any sort of desperation play, a "____ ____" gradually came to denote a long, low-probability pass, typically of the "alley-oop" variety.Give blanks.
  • 49. 13 The origin for this term is thought to be from a card game but to believe that would be wrong. The formal definition of the term is “easily and decisively” the definition on urban dictionary is : 1. Used when talking about whether something is easily the best. 2. When a team or a player of any sport wins something with very little effort/easily Give term and sport of origin.
  • 51. It was an easy decision, not close at all, requiring no effort, but why is that “hands down”? It sounds like it might be from a card game, but it actually comes from horse racing. When a jockey has a race in the bag, he can relax his hold on the reins and stop urging the horse so hard.
  • 52. 14 X is a collaborative sports and streetwear venture started by brother-sister duo - Avni Aneja and Ambar Aneja. Avni is the creative spearhead and chief curator of all things streetwear, design and graphics for the brand. She's an alumna of Lady Shri Ram College for Women and also London College of Fashion, UAL where she pursued a Masters in Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Ambar is one-size-fits all. He handles the daily operations as well as marketing direction of the brand. He started conceptualising the brand while still attending his now alma mater - University of Southern California, Los Angeles where he graduated in Global Business Marketing and International Relations. Give X.
  • 55. 15 ● Like FIBA-sanctioned Y, games are played on a half-court. ● Standard two- and three-point shots apply; the three-point line is the same distance as in the NBA. (Y uses the FIBA arc, with shots from outside the arc worth 2 points and all others worth 1.) ● Unique to X are three "four-point zones" on a circle 30 feet (9.1 m; 910 cm) away from the basket. One is on the midline of the court; the other two are 40 degrees away from the midline. To score four points, a player's foot must be touching any part of a circle. ● The shot clock runs 14 seconds, as opposed to 12 in Y. ● To win, a team must score 50 or more points, and lead by at least two points (hence there is no overtime). In Y, the game ends by rule after 10 minutes of play, or if a team reaches at least 21 points, with no required victory margin. If the teams are tied, Y uses an untimed overtime with the shot clock enforced, and the first team that scores 2 points in the overtime wins.
  • 56. Defensive rebounds must be cleared if the ball touched the rim. If the ball did not touch the rim, defensive rebounds do not need to be cleared. In Y, all defensive rebounds must be cleared. Steals do not have to be cleared, unlike in Y. In both X and Y, the ball is cleared when the player with the ball establishes both feet behind the 3-point line. The ball can be cleared by dribbling or passing. A defensive rebounder who makes a direct pass that clears the ball must clear the lane and re-establish himself before his team's shot or pass hits the rim. A number of rules are given above speaking about a variation of basketball the rules differ from a variation Y’s rules as stated by FIBA. X is a basketball league which is founded by a famous hip hop musician Z. The league was started in 2017. Give XYZ.
  • 59. 16 X was the first sport to be played on the grounds of the All England Club a quintessentially English pastime where players have to knock a wooden ball through hoops using a mallet type implement. It's a highly skilled game but once tennis was introduced to Wimbledon in 1877 interest in it receded. For sentimental reasons, it is still retained in the official title of the championships and a small lawn for the sport still exists on the grounds although too small for top-class competitions. Sport?
  • 62. 17 The phrase dates back to the time long before the mobile phone era, when coin-operated pay telephones were commonplace. While a mobile phone today belongs to a person (the owner) who can be identified via phone records, old landlines phones belonged to a place or location. The distinction may seem obvious, but it is important to keep in mind in order to understand why a public pay phone was the snitch's favorite reporting device. It is almost impossible to trace a specific call originating from a pay telephone located in a public place to a specific person if the caller declines to identify him- or herself. For several decades spanning the middle of the 20th century the initial charge for a call from a pay phone was 10 cents (a US dime). The coins were inserted into the phone through a slot on the device. Hence “X” initially meant simply placing a call from a pay phone. Later on the phrase acquired the special meaning of snitching from a pay phone because that device was used so often by anonymous informants. Finally, the slang phrase came to mean any act of snitching, regardless of the means. Even though we seldom use pay telephones now (and those that still exist do not rely on coins for operation), the final meaning of the expression has stuck.
  • 63. A “X” in basketball is the same thing as an assist. For those unfamiliar, a basketball assist occurs when one player makes a pass to a teammate which leads that teammate to score a basket. By making the pass to the teammate, the player has “assisted” in the making of the basket. Give me X and phrase.
  • 66. 18 X’s nickname Y features on his shirt. It was given to him by his grandparents, due to a resemblance to the character from X’s favourite Japanese cartoon programme as a child. The footballer has a tattoo on the inside of his right arm inscribed that translates roughly to YX in the latin script.

What happened next?” “Well, he did it again.” “How did that go down with the Great Man?”
  • 87. “As you can imagine W.G.’s fraternal affection was aroused. ‘You mustn’t do that, Tim,’ says he in his Gloucestershire accent in that squeaky little voice of is, ‘you’ll kill my brother.’” “And Tim’s reply?” “He didn’t much like EM, so he replied as bold as brass, ‘And a good thing to’ and promptly did it again.” “For a third time?!” Foley continued without so much as a break in his cannoning, his score was in three figures by now. “W.G. then warned him that if he did it again, he would take his men off the field.” “Needless to say O’Brien repeated it, and W.G. marched off the field, with his colleagues.” First instance of what in cricket.
  • 90. 4 The odd thing about field hockey is that due to its development in a area dominated by a group of people having a common quality the rest of the people cannot play the sport in their natural way and have to adjust to the customs set by the IHF. Which the organisation has explained as “Safety concerns and injury prevention were the primary reasons for banning Y from IHF-sanctioned competitions. According to officials, Y create too much danger on the field.” What strange rule is this?
  • 92. No left handed players and sticks in field hockey
  • 93. 5 The Country Club in Atlantic City lay claim to the first use of the word X itself, as mentioned on the USGA website. In 1962 the US greenkeepers' magazine reported a conversation with A B Smith. He recounted that, in 1898/9, he and his brother, William P Smith, and their friend, George A Crump, who later built Pine Valley, were playing the par-four second hole at Atlantic City, when Ab Smith's second shot went within inches of the hole. Claimed as first instance of use of what?
