How can you learn your spelling words? Look-Write-Say-Act Method Look  at the word and  write  each syllable (sound) in a different colour. For example:  man u fac tured . Look at the picture and sentences so that you understand the meaning of the word. Say  out the word and the sentence. Act  out the meaning of the word. Repeat at least 10 times for each word and test yourself daily.
weath er Meaning: Weather (noun): the state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, cloudiness, moisture, pressure, etc. Example. The  weather  turned bitterly cold. 1
ther mom e ter Example: I use a  thermometer  to measure my temperature. 2
au tumn Meaning: The season between summer and winter, when leaves change colour and the weather becomes cooler. Example. The leaves of the tree changed colour during  autumn . 3
squir rel Example:  Squirrels  like to eat nuts. 4
screw driv er Example: A  screwdriver  is a useful tool. 5
tel e scope Example: A  telescope  can be used to see distant objects. 6
mea sures Example: The teacher  measures  the height of her pupils every year. 7
cud dled Meaning: cuddled (verb, past tense): held someone or something very close to you with your arms around them, especially to show that you love them. Example: The little girl  cuddled  her teddy bear.  8

raged Meaning: raged (verb): moved, rushed, dashed, or surged furiously. Example: The waves in the sea  raged  during the storm. 17
