This document analyzes the speech acts and politeness strategies used in speeches given by Dr. Pedrito C. Pontillas. It finds that representative speech acts, which present the speaker's opinions and assertions, were used most frequently. Positive politeness strategies, which appeal to the audience, were also most common. The conclusions are that Dr. Pontillas persuasively presented his views using representatives, and fostered good rapport with his audience through positive politeness. His speeches emphasized continuous improvement.
