The document discusses the differences between mastery-based and growth-based measures. Mastery-based measures assess whether students have mastered a set of new material or standards by the end of the year, while growth-based measures assess students' improvement on skills from the beginning to the end of the year. Examples provided include mastery of 18th century US history concepts versus measuring growth in reading abilities. The document also provides examples of setting mastery goals for music recorder skills versus setting growth goals for improving physical fitness areas like flexibility over the year.

The Reading Growth Tracker can provide teachers with information about students' individual reading growth over time, the percentage of students meeting reading goals, and can translate reading levels to grade-level equivalents. However, it cannot evaluate the effectiveness of teaching plans, the quality of assessments, detect errors in entered data, or prescribe how to act on the data. When using the Reading Growth Tracker, teachers must treat students' reading data with care by following directions, carefully updating information, and thoughtfully reflecting on and responding to the data, as it contains sensitive information about students' reading abilities.
The document provides guidance on properly inputting student data into a reading growth tracker. It emphasizes anonymizing student names by only including last initials, copying and pasting values from other files instead of formulas, carefully entering accurate data like reading levels, and filling out the tabs in order to track reading growth over time and view final results. Saving often and reviewing directions if needed are also recommended.
The document discusses measuring student success and growth. It states that while teachers want many important outcomes for their students, they should primarily measure student growth and achievement (SGA) because it is what they can directly observe and it matters most to students. SGA serves as a proxy for success since teachers cannot measure everything, but they still care about all the other important outcomes as that defines true success.
This document compares and contrasts two free screencasting programs, Screenr and Jing. It notes that Screenr allows for easy access without downloading but limits recordings to 5 minutes and storage to 2GB. Jing requires downloading but allows for both images and video, private storage, and integration with editing programs. The document recommends Jing for educational use due to the ability to keep student work private.

The Standards Mastery Tracker can provide overall and individual student scores on assessments, average scores by question and standard, and track student mastery of standards over time. However, it cannot evaluate the quality of teaching plans, assessments, or determine if data was entered correctly. When using the tracker, teachers must treat student data with care, follow directions, carefully update information, and thoughtfully respond to results.
The document provides guidance for inputting student data into a standards mastery tracker:
- Only enter students' initials and anonymize their information. Paste any copied information as values to avoid errors. Set calculations to manual to prevent slowdowns. Carefully enter the correct information and save often.
- Fill out tabs in order: student roster, standards, assessment dates. Only enter data into gray fields, not blue or white.
- On assessments, first create an item map linking questions to standards, then enter individual student responses. The final tab will display overall assessment averages.
The document explains how to use the code "NETR" or "Not Enrolled This Round" in a student assessment tracker. NETR should be used when a student was not enrolled at the time an assessment was given so their blank response is not counted as a zero. It provides appropriate scenarios like when a student joins after an assessment. It also lists inappropriate scenarios like absence or running out of time, which should not use NETR. To use NETR, simply enter it in the student response field and the tracker will ignore that field and not count it toward averages.
To remove a student from the tracker roster, the teacher should not delete the student's information. Instead, the teacher indicates on either the "Student Roster" tab of the Standards Mastery Tracker or the "Roster_Changes" tab of the Reading Growth Tracker that they wish to remove a student. Any request must include a compelling rationale, such as the student being absent for over 50% of instructional days, and refer to the SGA Handbook for more information on appropriate removal scenarios and policy.

protecting the product in transit from being damaged by
the tiers coming in contact with each other. They can also
be used as liners inside railcars, containers or trailers.
The corrugated sheets can be used as dust covers, pallet
tops, load or pallet divider sheets and much more. They
are available in many different sizes and thicknesses
depending on the application, and are recyclable.

30. Air Bag Tips
Always protect the air bag. Pad any part of the air
bag that comes in contact with the pallet with
corrugated materials or chip board.
Always inspect re-usable bags after use and again
prior to re-use. If damaged, dispose of the bag –
Correct don’t risk it!
Align skids when double Don’t use multiple air bags together to fill a void. One
stacking to prevent instability will almost always be ejected from position and all
stability will be lost.
Fill bag until freight stops moving and is locked
securely to rail car, container or trailer side walls. Air
bag should be firm and tight to the touch, but not
over-inflated. Never exceed 12” after inflation, if so,
bulkheads should be used.
Incorrect To prevent failure never fold an air bag!

31. Corner Posts
Corner Posts will keep your stacked
loads strait, absorb shock and
prevent damage. Their shape
increases their load bearing strength,
using less paper. This cuts your
packaging costs, allowing more units
per pallet. They are also recyclable.
Corner Posts are available in calipers ranging from .080 to .250 with a
variety of leg lengths and overall lengths of any size. You can also utilize
our standard white clay-coated top for printing with one color graphics,
your message or logo to enhance your merchandising efforts.

32. Honeycomb
Honeycomb is made of kraft liner formed into continuous uniform cells. When
expanded it can be faced with kraft liner and color coated. It can also be faced with
other substrates.
Honeycomb’s distinctive cellular pattern and
ability to bend and stretch into countless shapes
and patterns allows imaginative uses.
Honeycomb is also recyclable and biodegradable,
and in most instances is more cost effective
than the foam type products used in inner
packing and many other applications. The
reduction of sound transmission and deadening
of vibrational energy are other important advantages of this product.
Pound for pound, honeycomb is the strongest and most economical core available
for use today. The cellular form provides outstanding top to bottom compression,
making it an ideal component to replace wood pallets.

37. The
ENFORCER for Longitudinal Securement
More than just a PALLET BRAKE
Pallet Brake Dynamics:
When intransit forces are applied to Pallet Brake the nail is the primary component in retarding pallet movement. Nails placed in
molded-in holes can only be driven in at a 90 degree angle to the floor, resulting in perfect positioning for *SHEAR. During dynamic
loading of pallets, by intransit forces, the Brake’s tongue forces a downward pressure resulting from unit’s weight forces nails to
remain in SHEAR and not go into pull out action. SHEAR is 3 times stronger in blocking and bracing pallet/skid in comparison to
PULL OUT.
*1,000-1,100 lbs depending
on nails’ (20d common) wire
diameter and wood’s
specific gravity.
