ABOUT US
Many successful business ventures were started by people who would have regretted not
trying for the rest of their life. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is a good example. Founders of
SparkSeeker, Michelle Wang and James Mao, had similar feelings when starting SparkSeeker.
Both founders were born, grew up in China, and immigrated to Australia in our mid-30s. We
strongly believe in the huge opportunities Australia-China trade is going to bring to small and
medium-sized Australian businesses in the next decade. Having seen too often businesses
failing to capitalise on these growing opportunities, we decide to do something about it.
SparkSeeker was established in 2017. It is not a typical marketing organisation. We are
building up a trustworthy team that can be closely integrated with Australian businesses to tap
into the Chinese market opportunities.
All that means, for every single engagement, we will be diligently learning your business,
sharing with you up-to-date Chinese intelligence, market know-how and working hand in hand
with you to adapt to the fast-changing Chinese market dynamics.

OUR OFFERING
Chinese market has its huge potentials for Australian businesses. However, successful cases
are predominately in the commodity and consumer goods sectors. Among those cases, the
relationships between Australia and China is typically transactional. For many businesses we
have met however, particularly in the professional service sector, are keen to tap into the
opportunity but lack of any substantial engagement with China. It is usually because they are
not coping well with the complexity of dealing with the fast-paced Chinese market dynamics,
different geo-political atmosphere and the different culture, almost the same challenges
Chinese inbound investors are facing. Targeting those, we offer our client services in the
following 4 categories:
Partnership Planning
Understand the type of partnerships that are suitable for our clients.
Starting with a period of exploration and then in-depth engagement with
client organisations to learn the business characteristics and needs. We
and our client will usually work together to run some trials to decide the
most suitable type of partnerships for our clients.
Partner and Channel Identification & Evaluation
Develop partner profile based on step 1 and assist in partnership searching
then perform independent evaluation.
We work with client organisations’ network and our own network to search
for partnership opportunities that can yield the best synergy. We do the
pre-assessment and arrange initial partnership discussions.

Partnership Negotiation
Support certain aspects of the negotiations for our clients.
We provide all-around negotiation support, including pre-negotiation
preparations, negotiate on behalf of our client for agreed topics, and post
negotiation review and follow-up.
Service Offering Customisation & Operation Support
Our goal is always to deliver a superior partnership and marketing support for Australian
businesses’ China entry. To support this goal, particularly our clients’ long-term success in
China, we adopt a methodology that values a high degree of agility and customisation for
different clients. We never had a set of predefined templates or activities, instead, we are
willing and able to work with our clients for a period of time (even for free initially) to learn how

Bachelor / Master’s degrees from top Chinese universities. Our unique experiences have

Culture difference is one of the challenges that has been cited by many businesses trying to
negotiate with Chinese companies. Over the years, we have been engaged in many cross-

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is a good example. Founders of SparkSeeker, Michelle Wang and James Mao, had similar feelings when starting SparkSeeker. Both founders were born, grew up in China, and immigrated to Australia in our mid-30s. We strongly believe in the huge opportunities Australia-China trade is going to bring to small and medium-sized Australian businesses in the next decade. Having seen too often businesses failing to capitalise on these growing opportunities, we decide to do something about it. SparkSeeker was established in 2017. It is not a typical marketing organisation. We are building up a trustworthy team that can be closely integrated with Australian businesses to tap into the Chinese market opportunities. However, successful cases are predominately in the commodity and consumer goods sectors. Among those cases, the relationships between Australia and China is typically transactional. For many businesses we have met however, particularly in the professional service sector, are keen to tap into the opportunity but lack of any substantial engagement with China. It is usually because they are not coping well with the complexity of dealing with the fast-paced Chinese market dynamics, different geo-political atmosphere and the different culture, almost the same challenges Chinese inbound investors are facing. Targeting those, we offer our client services in the following 4 categories: Partnership Planning Understand the type of partnerships that are suitable for our clients. Starting with a period of exploration and then in-depth engagement with client organisations to learn the business characteristics and needs. We and our client will usually work together to run some trials to decide the most suitable type of partnerships for our clients. Partner and Channel Identification & Evaluation Develop partner profile based on step 1 and assist in partnership searching then perform independent evaluation. We work with client organisations’ network and our own network to search for partnership opportunities that can yield the best synergy. We do the pre-assessment and arrange initial partnership discussions.
