Note: Students who legally reside in Canada or Point Roberts, Washington, but do not qualify for
the BC Government grant, are assessed an additional fee of $2600 in lieu of the government

OTHER FEES
Application Fee: $300 per domestic student; $500 per international student
This non-refundable application fee is levied on a per child basis and is due at the time of
application.
New Family Fee: $3300 per family
This one-time fee is payable only by families new to the school. It is designed as the new family’s
share of the resources and demonstrates a commitment to Southpointe Academy.
Capital Fee: $1100 per family
This annual fee funds the provision of capital resources.
Non-Classroom Fee: $550 per student
This fee is levied per student to pay for the out-of-classroom activities such as field trips, sports
teams, student agendas, yearbooks, transportation of students, etc. The fee makes up the global
budget for these activities across the entire school.
Outdoor Education Fee: Grades 4-5: $275 per student
Grades 6-10: $500 per student
This fee is for the Project Discover Program, Southpointe Academy’s outdoor education program.
The fee is an equitable distribution of the program costs and enables participation. This fee is
mandatory and will not be refunded should your child not participate for any reason.
Grade 11 Service Week: $100 per student
Grade 11 students participate in Service Week, a special program in which the students volunteer in the
community with a variety of nonprofit organizations. Fees charged reflect transportation and other
incidental costs associated with working with the nonprofit partners.
OTHER FEES
Grade 12 Grad Retreat: $500 per student
Grade 12 students leave campus for this capstone event to set goals for their Grade 12 year, plan for
university, and participate in outdoor education.
Graduation Fee (for Grade 12 students only): $250 per student
After School Care Fee: $10/day per student
Uniforms: $400-$800 per student
Southpointe uniforms are supplied, priced and purchased directly by families from Top Ten Schoolwear.
Bus Fees: $700-$1350 per student
These fees are dependent upon the actual costs of busing and are yet to be fixed for the coming
academic year. This range represents an approximation of the actual costs. This fee applies only to those
students using the Southpointe Academy Bus program.
SOUTHPOINTE BOND
The Southpointe Bond is $25,000 per family. All enrolled families are required to purchase a one-time
$25,000 Southpointe Academy Bond. This Bond is each family’s way of participating in the Society’s
capital requirements, e.g. the school building.
SIBLING DISCOUNT
The sibling discount only applies to tuition fees and is applied to the second and subsequent sibling(s) in
birth order.
Second sibling: 5% discount | Third sibling: 10% discount | Fourth sibling: 15% discount
REFUND POLICY
The school’s budget is based on enrolment numbers prior to the start of the academic year. At the same
time, financial commitments are made to school employees and expenditures incurred on facilities,
instructional materials and supplies to operate the school. As a result, fees are non-refundable and
requests for pro-rated tuition charges cannot be granted.
LATE PAYMENT AND PAYMENT PLAN
A 3% per month interest fee is charged on overdue accounts, and a $25 charge for each dishonoured
cheque will be applied on tuitions not paid on time.
Though fees are payable upon enrolment, the school provides a payment schedule as a means of
spreading the cost of tuition fees over a period of 9 months. Please contact the school’s Financial
Controller if you wish to learn more about this option.
FINANCIAL AID
Bursaries are designed to assist current Southpointe Academy families who are in need of temporary
assistance with fees for unexpected reasons. Bursary Application Forms must be submitted to the Head of
School by April 30 annually. Application forms may be obtained from the front desk. All personal
information is protected by the Privacy Policy published in our Handbook.
