1) The document discusses how through baptism, we become sons and daughters of God. However, many Christians do not understand the significance of this identity.
2) It explains that having an accurate sense of identity as children of God allows us to live without worry and with purpose, bearing our Father's authority and inheriting all that He has.
3) As sons and daughters of God, we have authority as His representatives, will inherit all of heaven, and have direct access to our Father through prayer. Understanding our identity transforms how we live as Christians.

Do you desire to hear God's voice? How do you know when He's speaking? This study details the methods through which God speaks and the heart we must have in order to hear Him clearly.
Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.

A sermon on Jesus' high priestly prayer in John 17. This sermon was delivered by Dale Wells at the Palm Desert Church of Christ (California) on November 2, 2008.
"The 20 sessions of this seminar present 26 Biblical guidelines for making good decisions in life. The importance of understanding the distinction between God's sovereign will and God's moral will is presented and the means that God uses to direct our path is explained." The content is all theirs, I just put it in a format for my own learning and am sharing it.
Hebrews 4:11-13 God's Word: Produces faith, cleanses us, brings reconciliation, tells us how to be saved, blesses us, answers life's questions, solves life's problems, helps us weather life's storms, tells us what is right and wrong, produces fruit in our lives, will judge us.

"May the Lord Jesus put his hands on our eyes also, for then we too shall begin to look not at what is seen but at what is not seen. May he open the eyes that are concerned not with the present but with what is yet to come, may he unseal the heart's vision, that we may gaze on God in the Spirit, through the same Lord, Jesus Christ, whose glory and power will endure throughout the unending succession of ages." The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

5. • Many misses the significance of
this fact
• Many are insecure, worry
about need.
While God does provide
They miss what God wants for
them
5
6. OUR IDENTITY
(Pagkakakilanlan – Pakatao)
Without Proper sense of Identity
• We are lost and disoriented
• We lack conviction.
• We lack sense of purpose.
Our Identity is critical to our
well being
6
7. IDENTITY
• IDENTITY- an objective fact, a given
• SENSE OF IDENTITY – depends on
our perception who we are
Ideally it should be based on actual
identity
7
9. 9
• SENSE OF IDENTITY
– depends on our
perception who we
are
10. Not having the right sense of
who we are gives rise to this
SITUATION:
1. Worries too much about the
future
2. Hard to develop close
relationship with HH member
3. Reluctant to serve as HH head
10
11. GOD wants us to have an
accurate and well developed
SENSE of IDENTITY…
…to conform to what our
Identity truly is.
11
12. So, what is our
IDENTITY?
1 John 3:1
See how great a love the Father has
bestowed on us, that we would be
called children of God;
12
13. John 1:12
Yet to all who did receive him, to those
who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of God
Galatians 3:26
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of
God through faith.
We are children of GOD
13
14. Through baptism we
have been change
radically
But most begin to
understand only gradually
14
15. If we know this, it would
make tremendous
impact
But why no impact on many
Christians?
15
16. Because they do not
understand
“SONSHIP”
We need to understand the nature of
Father – Son relationship.
The key to the significance of our
NEW IDENTITY 16
18. A son’s IDENTITY came
from his father
Luke 4:22
Everyone there said good things about
Jesus. They were amazed to hear him speak
such wonderful words. They said, “How is
this possible? Isn’t he Joseph’s son?
18
20. The relationship between father
and son was strong:
Important in the first century
ISRAEL
At age 6 or 7 responsibility on bringing up the
son shifted from mother of father
Taught them God Law and trade
Became direct personal representative
Inherited father’s social position
20
29. 3 Benefits of “SONSHIP”
1.Authority
2.Inheritance
3.Access
29
30. In Jesus’ time, a son BORE his
father’s Authority
1. A Son’s Authority
The Parable of the Tenants
30
31. The Parable of the Tenants
33 “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner
who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a
winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented
the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another
place. 34 When the harvest time approached, he sent his
servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
35 “The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed
another, and stoned a third. 36 Then he sent other
servants to them, more than the first time, and the
tenants treated them the same way.37 Last of all, he sent
his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said
31
32. 32
. ‘They will
respect my son,’
“The tenants seized his servants; they
beat one, killed another
33. Consider the example of Jesus
When question he pointed
to his father (John 5:23)
33
John 5:23
23 so that all people will honor the Son
just as they honor the Father. Anyone
who does not honor the Son does not
honor the Father who sent Him.
34. Mark 2:10 (Story of Paralytic sinner)
10 But I want you to know that the
Son of Man has authority on earth
to forgive sins.”
Forgiving authority
34
Jesus exercised authority
Gave orders to nature
Ordered demons to leave
35. We are given Father’s
authority as well
We can exercise authority over
our problems, obstacles and
challenges
We should not succumb to them
35
36. Authority helps us make our lives
easier to live as CHRISTIANS
We can adequately represent
and serve our Father
36
We are our Father’s
personal Representative
37. 2. A Son’s Inheritance
Our inheritance is staggering,
because it is everything that the
Father has.
Son = Heir
37
38. 38
Galatians 4:7
7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s
child; and since you are his child, God has
made you also an heir.
39. In New Testament:
Father passed on all he had to
Son
His fortune
Status in community
Trade
Responsibilities
39
40. TODAY:
• Inheritance = bundle of
money
•
• Children are expected to
make it on his own.
40
42. Our inheritance is not restricted to
the future Ephesians 1:13-14
IMPLICATIONS:
• We know of our inheritance, so we
can act accordingly
• We can have one direction in life
• Freedom from anxiety
42
43. 3. A Son’s Access
Ephesians 2:18
18 For through him we both
have access to the Father by
one Spirit
Son of King don’t get appointment to
see the King
43
44. Ask, Seek, Knock
Matthew 7:7-11
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek
and you will find; knock and the door will
be opened to you. 8 For everyone who
asks receives; the one who seeks
finds; and to the one who knocks, the
door will be opened.
44
46. We are sons and daughters
of GOD. God went to a lot of
trouble to make as such.
He sent Jesus, His own son,
top die for us.
46
47. God invested in making the most
of His relationship with us.
God wants us:
To be secure, confident and free
from anxiety
To bear His authority.
To receive our inheritance
To take advantage of our access
to Him.
47
48. In short, God wants to teach
us who we are so that we can
receive all the benefits that
come with our position
48
49. 1 John 3:1-2
3 Behold what manner of love the
Father has bestowed upon us, that we
should be called children of God;
2 Beloved, now are we children of God,
and it is not yet made manifest what we
shall be.
49
