• The name means “olive press”
• The place where they pressed olives to
make olive oil
• A garden surrounds the press
• A garden is any area cleared of trees,
such as a lawn

• The disciples stayed at the entrance gate
• Jesus, Peter, John, and James the
Greater went further
• Jesus told the three to wait while he went
further to pray

falling asleep
