Introduction to Connectors
• Connectors help link ideas and sentences.
• They clarify relationships between clauses.
Examples:
• Although it was snowing, we decided to go skiing.
• She loves chocolate because it makes her happy.
• He was tired, so he went to bed early.
• Even though they had a disagreement, they remained friends.
• She took an umbrella because the forecast predicted rain.

EVEN THOUGH / ALTHOUGH
•Definition: Used to show contrast between two ideas.
•Note: "Even though" is stronger than "although."
For example:
•Even though it was raining, we went for a walk.
•Although she was tired, she finished her homework.
•Even though he studied hard, he didn't pass the exam.
•Although they are friends, they often disagree.
BECAUSE
•Definition: Used to indicate reason or
cause.
For example:
•I stayed home because it was too cold
outside.
•She didn’t eat breakfast because she
was running late.
•He was late because he missed the bus.
•They canceled the picnic because of the
rain.

SO
•Definition: Used to indicate a result or effect.
•Note: Often used to show purpose.
For example:
•She studied hard, so she passed the exam.
•It was late, so we decided to go home.
•He forgot his umbrella, so he got wet.
•The movie was boring, so we left early.
