WHEN DO WE USE PAST SIMPLE TENSE?
 We use Past Simple Tense when we talk about
completed actions in the past.
Example: I washed my car yesterday.
She ate pizza last night.

There are two groups of verbs when we talk about the past simple:

To form the affirmative past tense of most regular verbs:
•Add –ed to the base form of the verb (wash- washed).
• If the verb ends in –e, add –d (live-lived)

•If the verb ends in a consonant preceded by a vowel, double the
final consonant (stop-stopped)
•If the verb ends in –y preceded by a consonant, omit the “y”
and add –ied ( copy-copied)

•Irregular verbs are verbs that don’t take on the regular –d, -ed, or -
ied spelling patterns of the past simple.
•Many of the irregular forms are the same, such as: cut: cut, have:
had, let: let, hurt: hurt, fed: fed, sold: sold
•BUT, most of them change: Irregular verb Past Simple
