Problems on waste management on greater
Noida:-
1)Landfill costing and management
2)Health hazarding and unpleasant smell
3)Harmful gas emission
4)Unmanaged city
1)Landfill costing and management
• In greater Noida daily waste production is about 200 METRIC TON
per day according to data of 2018 AD. Among them 48% Is
biodegradable and 52% waste is non biodegradable. Currently
all waste are managing in Landfill.
• We know Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also promoting the
collection of waste management in terms of biodegradable and non
biodegradable, but it is not able to manage the landfill problems.
Source:-Internet
2)Health Hazarding and unpleasant smell:-
• Due to unmanaged throwing of waste product and unmanaged
landfill site the unpleasant smell spread all over the area which
cause the hazard of health. Due to this the unpleasant smell also
comes
• For reference, we can take reference of Tugalpur riverside, which
becomes the great problem for resident of Tugalpur and to all who
visit them.

3)Harmful gas emission
• We know due to swachh bharat abhiyan collection of waste product
is increasing day by day. People are collecting waste separately but
due to some technical and some governmental management error
we are throwing the both waste in landfill, We all know
biodegradable waste degrade after fix time , But we don’t know
while decaying they emit so much harmful gases like CO2,CH4,N2O
etc. Which is causing depletion of the ozone layer , Decrement in
the average life span of the people
Source:-Internet
4)Unmanaged city
• Due to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan the small improvement is occurred
but this is not sufficient there is lack of dustbins in city . Waste are
thrown day by day, Due to which the attraction of Noida city is
decreasing day by day, which affects Greater noida’s beauty.

Are there no solutions ????? Can’t Greater Noida
be able to manage the waste management
problems ?????????
Yes, we have idea to solve for the problems and
our idea can minimize this problem to great
extend and Greater Noida will be the one of the
most managed city of U.P and also for india.
Lets begin the solution
1)Non biodegradable waste:-
For non biodegradable waste we can do reuse, recycle and
reduce. we can join the plastic wastes and make it stronger
plastics and we can use eco-post poles and can be used to make a
different temporary formwork structures.

2)Bio degradable waste:-
Solar composting
What is solar composting:-
It’s just like a normal Composting. It does not eliminate the basics of composting. But it can
process easier and faster by using the sun’s energy increase temperature and regulate
moisture and air flow.
Why solar composting?
It’s time to use solar energy instead of diesel, fuel to aerate composted materials. It’s part of
an effort to reduce emissions, as well as energy, land water usage and the production of
volatile organic compounds (VOC’s).
How does it works?
The heat produced by a solar compactor encourages the {mesophilic bacteria at mesophilic
or mild temp conditions} bacteria production that can reduce composting time to as little as
14 days. Not only does solar composting offer a steadier supply. It’s a greener alternative
that reduces energy demands and environmental stress.
Simple 3D animation of tumbler used in solar composting:-
How we can make more better in pilot project?
1)we can also use intelligent sensors which supply heat , air to the compost
pile first the wet waste is shredded into small particles to speed up
composting.
2)The machine uses electricity only during the rainy seasons and uses solar
energy during rest of the year saving the cost.
3)Solar panels are used to power the forced aeration, reversing the natural
aeration cycle the biofilter compost caps .It is very good in filtering
microorganism and volatile organic compounds(VOCs or ammonia).
Biofilters are very effective on ammonia and VOCs, but also reduces
greenhouse gases.
How is it beneficial???
These are need for sustainable development and green infrastructure.
If we are able to reduce the biowaste ending to landfill. We can reduce an of an economic
burden for handling landfill.
It is best for earth fill work because it makes the soil full of nutrients which are best for
plants growing and good for quality crops.
From a research done in different parts of the world has proved that carbon footprints or
say ozone layer depletion, methane,CO2,NO2 etc are produced highly from composting in
landfills than that of other composting done in a chamber and even composting produces
70 times, lesser than that of natural composting.
Case study:-
We have taken waste sample of vardhman hostel of sharda
university of about 400 people. The daily waste is of 50 kg
average
Food waste
Vegetable waste
Fruits waste
40 kg
10 kg
Design of the tumbler:-
According to the case study for 50 kg waste we need tumbler of following data
Base radius:-0.7m
Height of tumbler:-1.88m
1/3 parts of tumbler must be vacant for good aeration Process and regulation of moisture
Our composter can make turn the garbage waste to 30% of its total waste which is
maximum for any of the other methods.
It means that we can get 15 kg compost
We get 450 (15*30) kg compost per month from 1.5 ton
We get 5400 kg of (5.4 ton per year).
Market:-
We can sell it from INR 80 to INR 400 depending on the fineness of the compost waste.
In the average of 200 we can generate 10,80,000 revenue from compost alone.
We are main focused on green greater Noida more than revenue.
We prevent the situation so that it won’t turn into a problem and need not have to cure or solve the
problem.
We can apply this composting techniques for eco friendly solar composting toilets.
Conditions that comes:-
1)Psychrophilic condition:-
-10 to 10 deg C this bacteria gets active like bacteria gets active. It
is not like others.
2)Mesophilic condition:-
20 to 45 deg C this bacteria gets active . Its so active . For ex:-
staphylococcus aureus, listeria, Pyrogens.
3)Thermophilic condition:-
45deg C to 122deg C this bacteria gets active. Its make composting
Costing:-
1)High speed torque(motor):- INR6000
2) Rotating Tumbler and stand :-INR8000
3)Solar panels:-INR3000
4)Charge controller:-INR1500
TOTAL:-INR 18500
Thank you so much for your precious time to our idea
We hope our idea will Solve the waste management problem
and we hope we will get chance to implement it in Greater
Noida.
