Today's class covered presentations of ethnography projects and included discussions of ethnographic methods, field research, and key texts. Students were given guidelines for their 10 minute presentations including a 1500 word outline with their argument, selected details, and ideas for their final paper. The schedule for upcoming student presentations was also reviewed. The class discussed ethnography as qualitative research using participant observation and interviews. Key topics included observable and indirect aspects of culture as well as contrasting methods across cultural anthropology and related disciplines.
