Editor's Notes

  1. This is the same tree that I choose as a template for my new Weebly site (in progress).
  2. In addition, I am very curious about how MOOCs fit into the social learningIdeally, the participants aren’t just passively watching the videoThey are ENGAGED in conversations about assignments, various practices, and what they learnAn example , this course from Leuphana University, will definitely require engagement from participants. I signed up because I am curious about the topic and I’d like to see how social learning and social technologies will work in this course. The group will be diverse, from 1st year students to seasoned professionals, to anyone who’s interested in this topic and the course model. http://www.leuphana.de/en/current-affairs/publications/leuphana-magazine/cover-stories/germanys-leuphana-launches-online-university.html“In the first Leuphana-Online-University course „ThinkTank Cities“ participants design models for future living in urban centers under the direction of renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. The closing date for applications is January 7. Details can be found on the Leuphana webpage www.leuphana.de/digital-school. The three-month course starts on January 9, 2013.
