The traditional brick-and-mortar business model is no longer the only option for the aspiring entrepreneur. Many of today’s greatest successes belong to those who have captured the power of the viral loop by designing products and services that spread themselves through the channels of the Internet, propelled by word-of-mouth recommendations.
The Digital Social Contract
The Millennials and generation Z together comprise the most engaged, mobile, and enticing consumers of our time, but brands and agencies have largely misunderstood how these coveted digital natives interact.
We have missed a fundamental truth: There is a new social contract emerging—a digital social contract—that, like Rousseau’s original, has been proposed, ratified, and enforced by those it governs—most especially online video creators and their legions of fans who together stand at the apex of the digital revolution.
In Ogilvy & Mather's latest Red Paper, "The Digital Social Contract", Ogilvy's Jeremy Katz and Robert John Davis join with Alta Sparling and Bing Chen from Victorious to uncover the unspoken social rules governing the digital world and explain to brands how to thrive in it.
Allocating resources across the marketing mix is a lot like gathering the ingredients for a cookie recipe. You’ve got to determine the right ingredients and proportions for a delicious result. You want the finished goodie to delight cookie lovers—from positive comments and advocacy to second helpings and a commitment to your cookies. Although there are many good cookies out there, there are a multitude of options for consumers to research, engage, and build a relationship with your particular cookie, or brand.
That’s why it’s essential that your company’s marketing mix has the right allocation of resources across the four Ps of marketing: placement, price, product, and promotion.
You’ll want to join our panel of expert social bakers to discuss the importance of:
-Analyzing your social media channels, content, and subscribers
-Connecting your communications with channels
-Listening to community needs to fill gaps
-Combining channels where necessary
-Building your marketing strategy

Tech M&A Monthly: Megadebt and Hypervaluations - June 2013Corum Group

Meanwhile, companies like Tumblr, Waze and Eloqua are commanding huge valuations, and buyers as varied as Yahoo, Facebook and Oracle are paying a premium when they have their sights set on an acquisition. What's driving these "hypervaluations" and how can you take advantage?
All this, plus our monthly look at the deals, trends and valuations across six software markets.
Today's customer is a hard one to pin down: always on the go, changing platforms, and expecting different modes of engagement. Customers are also more aware than ever of brands attempting to sell to them on all of their platforms, and are wary of social selling that feels canned or inauthentic. Brands are now expected to be human and approachable, and making sure your organization is keeping up is a job on its own. How does your organization encourage the kind of nimble thinking required to match social customer engagement needs? What kinds of creative thinking go on behind the scenes that spur new ways to position your brand for optimal engagement?
In this slide deck, learn tips from our panel of experts on:
-How to integrate creative thinking at an organizational level to avoid getting stuck in a sales rut.
-How to make sure your brand stays nimble and agile enough to approach the customer from several angles
-New ways and best practices for interacting with customers in a way that feels authentic and also produces results.
