World’s Top Social Media Platforms:
Facebook; Twitter; Google+; You ; Linked inTube
Facebook is a fastest growing popular online platform that enables
customization of user interface, which also includes installing applications to
personalize the experience further. Users are connected to their friends very
quickly as they could receive notifications when someone in the network has
made changes or updates to his/her current profile.
Twitter is a free social networking microblogging service that allows
registered members to broadcast short posts called tweets. Twitter
members can broadcast tweets and follow other users’ tweets by using
multiple platforms and devices.
Google+(Google Plus) is a social network built over Web 2.0 standards
and specifications owned and operated by Google Inc. The Google+
design team sought to replicate the way people interact offline more
closely than is the case in other social networking services, such as
Facebook and Twitter.
YouTube is another amazing internet phenomenon with meteoric growth.
YouTube is a free video-hosting website that allows members to store and
share YouTube videos on a variety of web platforms by using a link or by
embedding HTML code.
LinkedIn is the largest professional networking site available today that provides
a way to connect with other professionals and helps to stay in contact with
millions of users. LinkedIn is strictly used foe exchanging knowledge, ideas, and
opportunities and has increasingly become a leader in helping individuals find
groups of interest as well as jobs in their fields.
 It is very clear from the following
statistics that Facebook is the most
effective & leading Social Media Platform
all over the world amongst all other
Social Media Platforms, including Linked
In, Twitter, YouTube and Google+.
 Facebook is also the most adopted and
used Social Media Platform following its
easy to use services, features & Hi-Tech
facilities it provides to its users and
clients across the World.
Comparison Statistics of Social Media Platforms based on
Parameters like (User satisfaction, number of account, features etc.)
Reasons for Which, Facebook is the most effective Social Media Platform: (Justifying the given Statistics)
 Facebook has become a way of life. People can constantly communicate with each other. This social media is so pervasive
that it’s unusual if someone claim they don’t have a Facebook account.
 Facebook’s service is constantly updating. Its wide variety of features like status updating, picture & video sharing &
uploading, sponsored ads, and now introducing Shopify will keep this social media service at top for the time being.
 One of the many aspects that Facebook has preferred is dealing with usability. The social network is centred to keep people
logged in to their accounts.
 Facebook’s website design is straightforward.
 Facebook’s search bar (Graph Search) allows to search based on any aspect.
 People cannot browse the Facebook database without registering for an account. Facebook encourages members to report
content they find offensive and allows to block individual users, report spam and report profile abuses.
Following the previous slide and given statistics we can clearly state that Facebook is the most used
and effective Social Media today. In the first few years that Facebook entered the scene, it was meant to
be the best way to socialize and connect. It didn’t take long for this service to expand and become
inclusive of people of all ages, from 13 on up. For several years now, Facebook has maintained its title
of the best social networking website.
Enhancements of Facebook: (We visualise it should implement to
retain its position as No.1 in the coming next three years)
 Security is a main concern of Facebook. Security system should be more defensive so that no one
can hack other’s profile.
 People should understand the privacy settings of the Facebook clearly and use it properly.
 Fake profiles should be filtered and deleted.
 Adding new features like DISLIKE button and new add-on features.
 If people want to use Facebook for its advantages, they should use it to a specific time limit in a
day.


Conclusions
Weighing the scale as well, where we put advantages and disadvantages of Facebook, we
can conclude that if Facebook is used in right proportions with proper care and Facebook
itself works on adding new features and give proper services to its users without any
complaints, it can retain its position No. 1 Social Media platform and be the most effective
according to its users and business clients across the World in coming next 3 years.

