The definition of social media is broad and
constantly evolving.
It generally refers to Internet based tools that
allow individuals and communities to gather,
communicate and share information, ideas,
contents and images.

6. There are many tools available for social media
including platforms, blogs, wikis and sharing sites.
These tools can be used to improve patient care,
education, public health and behavior such as
obesity ,smoking and eating behaviors, however
they also present potential risks to patients and
health care providers.
Humans are affected not merely by proximate
friends but also by friends of friends.

7.  Health care practitioners are increasingly turning
to social media to promote awareness, encourage
patient engagement and increase the spread of
accurate health messaging.
