2. Paul #1The Paul character gives a different take on the social group as opposed to the other 3 in the opening. He is a lighter character intended to give the film a lighter tone than the rest of the characters.The change of pace he offers is clear in how he is framed, rather than the more unconventional angles seen before ( the shot past James’ hand for example), he is framed quite simply using medium – close up shots. This allows the focus to be on the characters which is key in the scene to set up the characters of James and Paul for the rest of the film.
