We help young adults recover from addiction in our
licensed treatment centers, and we train addiction
professionals across the country through our compre-
hensive training program. Sober College continues
to grow and adapt to the changing needs of young
adults as well as addiction treatment as a whole. A
well-rounded approach that considers those they
are serving is what continues to place Sober College

3. Sober College drug rehab centers was founded by Mindi
Levins-Pfeifer, LCSW and Robert Pfeifer, MSW in 2006. They saw
a need for specialized treatment for young adults 18 to 25 years
of age that allowed residents to gain college and high school
credit while in treatment. Sober College drug rehab centers re-
mained on the fore-front of addiction treatment by treating the
addicted brain research with their Five Core Competency Model
to help hundreds of young adults recover. Offering college class,
a music recording studio, film and broadcast studio, extramural
sports and experiential therapies are just some of the ways that
Sober College has redefined rehab.

4. Seeing that putting their lives on hold was a deter-
rent for many young adults and their families from
getting the help that they need, Sober College part-
nered with Woodbury University in 2011 and become
the only treatment center that offers on-site WASC
accredited college courses to clients so they can earn
college credit and do not have to put their lives on
hold. While Sober College always saw the benefit of
education and learning for those in early recovery,
the partnership with Woodbury University made So-
ber College truly “college and rehab under one roof.”

covery, featuring a daily mix of breaking news, exclusive inter-
views, investigative reports, essays and blogs on sober living,
lifestyle and cultural resources, as well as knowledge and wis-
dom from expert counsel. We also offer rigorously reported Re-
hab Reviews, with input from thousands of alumni, plus exten-
sive directories and practical guides for dealing with addiction
and related mental health and life issues. Further, The Fix pro-
vides an extensive forum for debating relevant issues, allowing
a large community the opportunity to express its experiences
and opinions on all matters pertinent to addiction and recovery
without bias or control from The Fix. Our stated editorial mis-
sion - and sole bias - is to destigmatize all forms of addiction
and mental health matters, support recovery, and assist toward
humane policies and resources.

• Survey aimed to understand Alumni of Sober College feelings
towards different aspects of the program
• Surveys were created and sent using SurveyMonkey.com.
• Through Timmy’s employment at Sober College, he has access
to the Alumni Database.
• Once an Alumni was contacted through email or phone, the
survey was sent to them to be completed.
• Upon completion, the surveys were collected and sent to
TheFix.com.
• Requiring at least twenty completed surveys in order for
TheFix.com staff to re-evaluate Sober College’s
profile rating.

12. TheFix.com rating system is 5 star system which evaluate
different aspects of programs. The categories of evalua-
tion are the program’s accommodations, food, treatment,
and an overall rating. Before our involvement, Sober Col-
lege held at 3 out of 5 stars in the specific categories while
maintaining a 3.5 rating overall.

After our work alongside Sober College and TheFix.
com, we were able to raise the ratings of all evaluated
categories to a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

14. Our hope is that with the increase from a 3.5 to a 4.5
star rating Sober College will become much more com-
petitive advantage alongside other treatment centers
featured on TheFix.com. The competitive advantage will
assist the company in gaining more exposure as well as a
rise in admissions which will lead to an increase in profits.
