3.  Jon Snow is a illegitimate son of Eddard Stark. He serves
as a brother of the nights watch and later on becomesThe
Lord Commander. He is bullied throughout his life because
of his illegitimacy.
 Tyrion Lannister he is a son of a powerful manTywin
Lannister and also a dwarf. His father hates him because
his mother died during childbirth.Tyrion is a very cleaver
man and uses his intellect to over come the prejudice he
faces.
 DaenerysTargaryen is the only surviving daughter of Aerys
Targaryen. She is wanted dead by the king and was sent
away for safety.Throughout the show she gains power
and she is looking to overthrow the throne.

4.  The title sequence consists of a three-dimensional map of the world, with the
continents of Westeros and Essos located on the inner surface of a sphere.
 The computer-illusion "camera" swoops from kingdom to kingdom, focusing on
the family crest that sits atop each place.
 we created five privies map shots were cut in every time the show went from one
place to the next. It worked really well in terms of telling you where you were ,
but it interrupted the narrative flow o9f the show.We looked at the synopsis for
season one and identified what it would take to make these little interstitial shots
for all ten episodes, but due to the fact they somewhat disrupted the narrative,
the whole map idea got pushed back into the title sequence.

5. The title sequence opens up of the sun.The camera then pans to
a wide-shot ofWesteros and Essos before zooming in on the city
of King’s Landing.
The camera pays particular attention to the godswood of
Winterfell and its heart tree as it rises out of the ground before
panning up to the sun and astrolabe.
One thing that was really important was to make it feel like it was
a physical thing and not to use CG as a kind of “magic camera.” I
thought about it in terms of shooting practically with a motion
controlled camera.
I think you’d have to shoot everything with motion control due to
the narrow depth of field and size of the camera moves

6.  The show has a narrative through out all the seasons
within that there is smaller serial narratives that run across
each season.
 Season 1- Eddard Stark is called to be hand of the king and
has to move to kings landing. He starts to discover the
illegitimacy of the kings son. He tries to find out the truth
as he fights the corruption of the city.There are other
story lines that follow along side.
 The show spreads a political message about the struggle
behind power and ruler ship. It also brings up the topic of
corruption in power and how people can use power for
bad not good. It also involves the morals and life choices
people make and the effects the knock on effect this can
have on others.

8.  Gender – with different people women controlling the
prison. For example, a women called ‘Red’ controls the
kitchen. She also manages to sneak contraband, such as
make-up in the prison.The man are seen as the higher
power sue to them being the guards at the prison.
 Sexuality – one of the main subjects of the television show
is sexuality, with lesbian sex scenes featuring in most
episodes.This highlights how lonely the women get in
prison.
 Ethnicity- the groups also sit in their ethnic groups, with
the white people sitting with fellow white, people and
black people sitting with black people.This is generally the
code of conduct in prison with a huge amount of racism
being used in prison.

9.  Orange is the new black (OITNB) is filmed in a semi-
abandoned Rockland Children’s Psychiatric Centre,
which serves as the exterior film set of Orange Is
The New Black.
 Orange is the New Black based on the memoirs of
Park Slope resident Piper Kerman, films mostly
at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, just one floor
above the Sesame Street set.

10.  The main character isn't even in the credits — it's a diverse array of
faces. It's close-ups of the smiles, the frowns, the smirks of a slew
of women we never see on the show.
 The original plan for the opening credits was a surreal contrast
between Piper's cushy old life and her new prison life.
 So overall I think this title sequence fits its purpose completely as
it shows the viewer clearly what the show is about, without giving
away too much information or details.Techniques used:
Animation, visual effects, colour, audio, graphics, movement. Blur,
sharpen, distortion, rotation, opacity.Audio and movement are
used within this title sequence
 For example the music/audio starts the second the sequence starts
and they have made sure the pictures show to the pace and
rhythm of the music. Also, movement is used when the video clips
are shown.

11.  Thanks to a narrative structure that relies heavily on
flashbacks—plus a few characters that have lives
outside the bars
 There are certain television series that use nonlinear
narrative to explore the past - or future - of one or
various characters throughout its whole run
 Using a similar storytelling technique, Netflix's original
series Orange Is the New Black explores the lives of the
main characters in prison and also some important part
of their past before they became inmates.

13.  Empire doesn't have a officinal opening
sequence, this is the typicalAmerican
opening.
 It starts with what happenings last episode
and then in gold writing empire comes up on
the screen
 after that it goes start into the next episode

14.  Hakeem Lyon -He doesn't have any redeemable qualities to speak of. Most rappers who think they're hot suffer
from naive delusion. Some are talented but not as much as they think they are.That's not the case with Hakeem:
He is not talented at all, and outside of the booth he can be just as grating.
 Andre Lyon -Andre tries to act as if he's a genius businessman just because he graduated from Wharton. We're
still getting into his back-story, which is why I don't quite buy the idea that Lucious doesn't want to see him
prosper simply off the fact that he seems too square. I actually think it's a matter of competence. Andre has yet
to demonstrate an ear for music.
 Lucious Lyon - His only glaring weakness is his ignorant views on Jamal's sexuality. It's not only deplorable, it's
idiotic. But outside of that, if Lucious is supposed to be a bad guy, he's the fairest one on television.The entire
situation makes him look at once ferocious and also like the consummate father. He still cares very much for
Cookie, as though to say that he'll never forget the woman who supported him when starting out.
 Cookie Lyon - She still doesn't know quite how to act right. She's adjusting to life on the outside as much as she
can, but there are certain things she should have grown out of but hasn't, such as the slick little remarks she
makes about Jamal's sexuality And although she is Jamal's biggest defender and doesn't reject him the way
Lucious does, she can't help but treat Jamal like a pawn in her little game against Lucious.
 Jamal Lyon -The most talented son of Lucious and Cookie Lyon is also the guy you're rooting for the most:
Jamal. Not only has he stood up for himself against his father's homophobic ways, thus leaving behind a very
comfortable life, he has also stood up for others. He won't let Hakeem talk to their mother crazy. And he won't
let his mother talk to his boyfriend Michael any old way either. All the while, the music he creates is better than
all other music we hear on the show.With all that talent and what looks to be a heart of gold thus far, Jamal is
becoming the Empire star.

 Empire uses a different editing techniques for the title sequence to the
episode
 Graphic on empire is simple but its effective
 big bold gold letters and image of one of the main characters face
 The black ground makes it easier to see the image and the letters

17.  As everyone knows by now, Empire centers on
Lucious Lyon, his ex-wife, Cookie, and their
three children, Andre, Jamal, and Hakeem, as
they work and sing and backstab to control their
billion-dollar Empire, a record label that was
built on drug money earned back when Lucious
and Cookie were newlywed nobodies in the City
of Brotherly Love. And who doesn’t love a do-
rags-to-riches story, it’s a cultural touch point,
the opposite of a generation gap—aTV show for
the whole motherlove’ family.

story lines about the lives of many characters.
The stories usually focus on emotional
relationships to the point of melodrama.The
term soap opera originated from such dramas

19.  The purpose of an opening sequence is for it to establish the mood and
visual character of a film. It is also used to introduce the viewer to all or
some of the following elements, which are; Characters, locations,
Narrative, Plot,Themes andVisual style.
 The opening sequence is a personal thing but when a film grabs your
attention from the opening frame it knocks you out of your seat or even
grinds you into it, you tend to remember it fondly, even if the rest of it
fails to measure up. It has to be said that this is something modern
American movies tend to do very well; in general, most blockbuster
Hollywood films result in a loud and witless bang. By watching the
opening scene, theTV audience has a taste of things to come for the
short attention span generation, reassurance that the upcoming ten
minutes of talk and character introduction will eventually be replaced by
more of the visual shouting of the first scene.

 Soap operas are very common they continue for a long period of
time.The narrative structure tends to multi stranded.The codes
and conventions of soap opera are:

 The storyline tends to be to be about everyday circumstances,
family issues, love and relationship, rape, teen drinking, drug
abuse, adoption, illness.
 Multi stranded-multi stand narrative is when one storyline is
shown from different perspectives. An example is Eastenders.
Perhaps the most common trait of a soap opera is that each episode
ends with a promise for more drama the following day, rather than
a neat tie-up of that episode’s story, as you’d find with sitcoms or
other dramas.

kids playing around in a filed near Hype Park

 This is because it about 4+ more city of
Westminster students and it going to be
about student life, for example personal

violence and the struggles of keeping up with
their college work etc.
