Duke Street, Liverpool
Situated within the World Heritage Site Character Area, the
Rope Walks and Duke Street Conservation Area of the city
centre this site of the former NCP car park on Duke Street
and six town houses, two being Grade II Listed Buildings. A
planning application has been submitted on behalf of our
clients for a 365 space multi-storey car park and a 109 bedroom
3/4 star hotel.
The proposed scheme has been designed to contribute to the
wealth of historic and contemporary architecture along one of
the key arterial route into the city and assist in the regeneration
of this area of the city centre.
SNOW were appointed as architects to look at the proposals
after the success of their previous planning approval for site
consisting of a six storey new build residential development
of forty nine apartments, eleven more apartments than
the previous architects proposals, to Parr Street and the
reinstatement of the town houses to Duke Street.

Situated in the Newsham Park Conservation
Area and the Kensington Regeneration Area
this conversion and adaptation of a historic
victorian villa is set to provide 13 No. two
bedroom apartments.
The existing unsympathetic extensions
which were consturcted during the 1960’s
and 70’s are to be demolished and a new
build extension is to be constructed to the
rear. The existing villa will be restored to its
original form. Together with its contemporary
additions the scheme will provide desirable
and affordable residences close to the centre
of Liverpool which will prove to be a catalyst
for the regeneration of the area.
After extensive negotiations and
correspondence with the Local Planning
Department, Conservation Officer and
Urban Deisgn Officer the scheme has been
granted approval and work will commence
on site before the end of the year.

The proposals are for a new build
development of thirty commercial and
industrial units on a derelict and disused
industrial site in Aintree, North Liverpool.
SNOW produced a full set of working
drawings for the construction of the industrial
units working closely alongside Sutcliffe
Consulting and Structural Engineers to assist
in the delivery of packages for Building
Control approval and for construction.
