The Society for Nashville's Artistic Photographers (SNAP) provides a forum for local photographers to present and discuss their work, with the goal of fostering artistic growth through constructive criticism. Formed in 2003, SNAP has grown into an inclusive group that meets monthly to discuss photography, puts on three art shows annually, and promotes photographic art in Nashville through exhibitions and activities. Membership is open to photographers of all skill levels and photographic processes.

These Small Things - Artist Talk
Eric Denton organized a photography workshop and exhibition with four young photographers ages 10-14 to teach them photography skills and showcase their work. The workshop covered basics of camera operation and different photography styles. It culminated in an exhibition titled "These Small Things" curating the participants' work. The proceeds were donated to purchase cameras for their school art programs to promote photography education. The workshop was an educational experience for both the participants and Eric, and helped raise awareness of funding issues for art programs in schools.

- 3. SNAP / History SNAP was born in an East Nashville kitchen around 2003. Wendy Whittemore and a couple of friends decided that they wanted to create a group with whom they could meet up and critique each others photography. Over the years the group has grown into an inclusive, free forum for photographers of all kinds to come and discuss all things photography. The group typically puts on around three art shows per year, and is known to have lively meetings, occasional workshops, and even fieldtrips.
