Snakes can eat a variety of foods including birds, fish, frogs, lizards, small animals, rabbits, other snakes, goats and pigs. They live in many habitats around the world such as deserts, forests, oceans, streams, lakes, on the ground, under trees and in mountains. Snakes breed in spring, where females can lay up to 10 eggs that feel like soft ping pong balls, and babies chip their way out of eggs. Snakes hiss or rattle their tails to scare enemies and strike quickly if threatened. They have dry, thin skin and long, thin bodies and move by contracting their muscles into an S-shape.
