This document provides instructions for adjusting a metal partial denture framework. It describes examining the framework for accuracy to the master cast and design. Disclosing media is used to identify areas that do not fully seat by applying it to the framework's intaglio surface and pressing it onto the teeth. Interferences are corrected by modifying the framework with burs. The framework is then fitted to the opposing occlusion using shim stock and articulating paper to eliminate interfering contacts. The process involves individually adjusting each framework and then adjusting them together to eliminate interferences between frameworks. Upon completion, the framework is finished and polished.

This document discusses connecting natural teeth to dental implants. It provides indications for tooth-implant connections such as supporting mobile teeth or improving aesthetics. The advantages include increasing treatment options and reducing costs compared to implant-only solutions. Risks include tooth intrusion, implant fracture, and peri-implantitis. Different connection types are described, from rigid to non-rigid attachments, and guidelines are provided for proper connection design and maintenance.
The document discusses various techniques for making fixed prosthodontic (FPD) impressions, including conventional and recent methods. Conventional techniques include the putty-wash technique, copper tube/resin coping system, monophase technique, and dual viscosity technique. The putty-wash technique uses putty and wash materials simultaneously or in two steps. The dual viscosity technique uses a light body material injected around preps and a heavy body material in a tray. Recent techniques include digital impressions made either chairside, in a lab, or production center. The document provides details on procedures, advantages, and disadvantages of different impression techniques for FPDs.
An immediate denture is a removable denture that is fabricated and inserted on the same day as tooth extractions. There are two types: a conventional immediate denture, where posterior teeth are extracted first to allow healing before removing anterior teeth and relining the denture; and an interim immediate denture, where all teeth are extracted at once and a second new denture is fabricated after healing. Immediate dentures can help maintain appearance and jaw function after tooth loss but may be less retentive initially than traditional dentures due to ridge changes during healing.
An immediate denture is a complete or partial denture fabricated immediately after tooth removal. There are two types: a conventional immediate denture intended as the long-term prosthesis, and an interim immediate denture which will later be replaced. Immediate dentures have advantages like maintaining appearance and function, but also disadvantages like poorer fit during healing and higher costs. Patients are advised they will be sore initially and dentures may loosen as ridges shrink during healing. Multiple adjustments over months are usually needed to achieve a good fit.
Indications & contra indications of implant supported prosthesis / implant de...Indian dental academy
This document discusses the indications and contraindications of implant supported prostheses. It provides indications for different types of dental implants based on factors like the amount and location of available bone. Contraindications include uncontrolled medical conditions like diabetes or thyroid disorders that could impact healing. For patients with controlled conditions, careful planning is needed to minimize risks during dental procedures.
This document defines various types of oral and dental implants and discusses their design and use. It begins by defining oral implants, dental implants, and prosthetic devices. It then describes the main types of dental implants: mucosal inserts, endodontic (stabilizer) implants, subperiosteal implants, and endosteal (endosseous) implants, which include plate-form, ramus-frame, and root-form implants. The document also discusses osseointegration, the process by which implants bond to bone, and factors that affect this process like implant and surgical technique. Finally, it covers treatment planning considerations for dental implants.
1. Indirect retainers assist direct retainers in preventing displacement of the distal extension denture base by functioning through lever action on the opposite side of the fulcrum line. They are most commonly occlusal rests placed on premolars.
2. For indirect retention to be effective, it must be placed some distance from the fulcrum line, usually contacting multiple teeth. It helps stabilize the denture base and reduces stresses on abutment teeth.
3. Indirect retainers have auxiliary functions like preventing tilting of abutment teeth, stabilizing the major connector, and providing early indication of need to reline the denture. Their location and design depends on factors like arch, ab

1. Precision attachments are mechanical devices used to connect fixed and removable dental prostheses. They consist of two precisely fitting metal components - a matrix embedded in a crown and a patrix attached to the removable prosthesis.
2. Intracoronal attachments are placed entirely within the crowns, while extracoronal attachments have parts outside the crowns. Precision attachments provide better support, stability, and stress distribution compared to conventional clasps.
3. Proper case selection and adequate space in the abutment teeth are required for precision attachments. Frictional fit and mechanical locks provide retention between the male and female components. Precision attachments are useful for replacing missing teeth in many clinical situations.
This document discusses dental contacts and contours. It begins by explaining the importance of proper occlusal and proximal contacts in stabilizing teeth and resisting mesial drift. Contours on the facial, lingual, and proximal surfaces protect supporting tissues during mastication. Proper proximal contacts and embrasures are important for preventing food impaction and protecting soft tissues. The document then discusses techniques for developing correct contacts and contours during restorative procedures, including tooth separation, wedging, and matrix placement. Maintaining proper contacts and contours is important for dental and periodontal health.
Exodontia refers to the extraction of teeth. It involves using levers and forceps to remove teeth while minimizing trauma to surrounding tissues. Elevators use principles of leverage to loosen teeth from their sockets. Forceps are used to dilate the socket and remove the tooth. Complicated extractions may require a transalveolar approach using surgical flaps and bone removal. Potential complications include damage to surrounding teeth, nerves or bone as well as post-operative issues like pain, bleeding and infection. Careful treatment planning and use of proper technique can help reduce complications from tooth extractions.

This document provides a standard operating procedure (SOP) for creating jigs used in the auto spray process. It involves two main parts - template file creation and jig creation. The template file contains reference geometry from the production cell and spray head measurements. To create a jig, the template file is opened, a 3D scan is loaded and positioned, and reference lines are drawn. A Grasshopper script then uses these lines to generate the jig geometry, including an upper holder and roller coaster surface. The geometry is baked, text is added, and the file is saved for 3D printing.
The document provides an overview of additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing. It discusses several AM processes including vat photopolymerization, material jetting, binder jetting, material extrusion, powder bed fusion, sheet lamination, and directed energy deposition. For each process, it describes the basic steps and materials used. The document highlights expanding applications of AM in industries and its potential to significantly impact manufacturing. It also discusses factors that influence AM part quality and costs.

This doctoral thesis presents a reliable and robust method for manufacturing custom gears in multi-axis machining centers. It focuses on developing a methodology for machining unique cylindrical and conical gears in general-purpose machines. The methodology allows control over the entire process from design to measurement. Gear geometries are generated through software developed for cylindrical and conical gears. Machining strategies, cutting patterns, tool wear, and cycle times are evaluated to optimize the process. Different quality levels in finishing operations are also evaluated. Finally, the methodology is completed with dimensional verification and surface roughness measurement of the machined gears.

What Exactly is PDIP?
PDIP is an acronym for “Prothetic Dental Implant Planning” Traditionally with CBCT implant planning software, you have had to place the implant and then work out how to get your abutment and crown in the correct position. With PDIP you position the crown and then place the implant in the best position to accommodate the crown. However the latest version of PDIP take this a stage further and integrates the SMOP, BlueSkyBio and coming soon may other guided systems.

The document summarizes a digital workflow for an immediate extraction and implantation of a lateral incisor. Key steps included: 1) Scanning the patient's mouth with an intraoral scanner to create a digital impression; 2) Planning implant placement and designing a surgical guide using planning software; 3) Extracting the tooth and placing the implant with the help of the surgical guide; 4) Allowing for healing with a temporary crown; 5) Scanning a final impression and designing a permanent restoration digitally to be milled. The process resulted in a successful implant placement and restoration of the lateral incisor.

360 Visualise: Last year 360 Visualise sold more CBCT in the UK than any other company. Our first scanning centre in Ilkley was the first independent CBCT referral centre outside of London and we now scan over 3000 patients each year. This experience gives us a unique insight into the clinical needs and processes of the dental profession and what can be achieved with new software packages.
New processes are quickly developing enabling implant dentists to quickly scan, plan and print implant drilling guides using third-party applications such as SMoP & BlueSkyBio. Sectional dentures for microstomia patients.pptxSatvikaPrasad
Microstomia, characterized by an abnormally small oral aperture, presents significant challenges in prosthodontic treatment, including limited access for examination, difficulties in impression making, and challenges with prosthesis insertion and removal. To manage these issues, customized impression techniques using sectional trays and elastomeric materials are employed. Prostheses may be designed in segments or with flexible materials to facilitate handling. Minimally invasive procedures and the use of digital technologies can enhance patient comfort. Education and training for patients on prosthesis care and maintenance are crucial for compliance. The Ultimate Guide in Setting Up Market Research System in Health-TechGokul Rangarajan
How to effectively start market research in the health tech industry by defining objectives, crafting problem statements, selecting methods, identifying data collection sources, and setting clear timelines. This guide covers all the preliminary steps needed to lay a strong foundation for your research.
"Market Research it too text-booky, I am in the market for a decade, I am living research book" this is what the founder I met on the event claimed, few of my colleagues rolled their eyes. Its true that one cannot over look the real life experience, but one cannot out beat structured gold mine of market research.
Many 0 to 1 startup founders often overlook market research, but this critical step can make or break a venture, especially in health tech.
But Why do they skip it?
Limited resources—time, money, and manpower—are common culprits.
"In fact, a survey by CB Insights found that 42% of startups fail due to no market need, which is like building a spaceship to Mars only to realise you forgot the fuel."
Sudharsan Srinivasan
Operational Partner Pitchworks VC Studio
Overconfidence in their product’s success leads founders to assume it will naturally find its market, especially in health tech where patient needs, entire system issues and regulatory requirements are as complex as trying to perform brain surgery with a butter knife. Additionally, the pressure to launch quickly and the belief in their own intuition further contribute to this oversight. Yet, thorough market research in health tech could be the key to transforming a startup's vision into a life-saving reality, instead of a medical mishap waiting to happen.
Example of Market Research working
Innovaccer, founded by Abhinav Shashank in 2014, focuses on improving healthcare delivery through data-driven insights and interoperability solutions. Before launching their platform, Innovaccer conducted extensive market research to understand the challenges faced by healthcare organizations and the potential for innovation in healthcare IT.
Identifying Pain Points: Innovaccer surveyed healthcare providers to understand their difficulties with data integration, care coordination, and patient engagement. They found widespread frustration with siloed systems and inefficient workflows.
Competitive Analysis: Analyzed competitors offering similar solutions in healthcare analytics and interoperability. Identified gaps in comprehensive data aggregation, real-time analytics, and actionable insights.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensured their platform complied with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations. This compliance was crucial to gaining trust from healthcare providers wary of data security issues.
Customer Validation: Conducted pilot programs with several healthcare organizations to validate the platform's effectiveness in improving care outcomes and operational efficiency. Gathered feedback to refine features and user interface.

THE SPECIAL SENCES- Unlocking the Wonders of the Special Senses: Sight, Sound...Nursing Mastery
Title: Unlocking the Wonders of the Special Senses: Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, and Balance
Introduction:
Welcome to our captivating SlideShare presentation on the Special Senses, where we delve into the extraordinary capabilities that allow us to perceive and interact with the world around us. Join us on a sensory journey as we explore the intricate structures and functions of sight, sound, smell, taste, and balance.
The special senses are our primary means of experiencing and interpreting the environment, each sense providing unique and vital information that shapes our perceptions and responses. These senses are facilitated by highly specialized organs and complex neural pathways, enabling us to see a vibrant sunset, hear a symphony, savor a delicious meal, detect a fragrant flower, and maintain our equilibrium.
In this presentation, we will:
Visual System (Sight): Dive into the anatomy and physiology of the eye, exploring how light is converted into electrical signals and processed by the brain to create the images we see. Understand common vision disorders and the mechanisms behind corrective measures like glasses and contact lenses.
Auditory System (Hearing): Examine the structures of the ear and the process of sound wave transduction, from the outer ear to the cochlea and auditory nerve. Learn about hearing loss, auditory processing, and the advances in hearing aid technology.
Olfactory System (Smell): Discover the olfactory receptors and pathways that enable the detection of thousands of different odors. Explore the connection between smell and memory and the impact of olfactory disorders on quality of life.
Gustatory System (Taste): Uncover the taste buds and the five basic tastes – sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami. Delve into the interplay between taste and smell and the factors influencing our food preferences and eating habits.
Vestibular System (Balance): Investigate the inner ear structures responsible for balance and spatial orientation. Understand how the vestibular system helps maintain posture and coordination, and explore common vestibular disorders and their effects.
Through engaging visuals, interactive diagrams, and insightful explanations, we aim to illuminate the complexities of the special senses and their profound impact on our daily lives. Whether you're a student, educator, or simply curious about how we perceive the world, this presentation will provide valuable insights into the remarkable capabilities of the human sensory system.
Join us as we unlock the wonders of the special senses and gain a deeper appreciation for the intricate mechanisms that allow us to experience the richness of our environment.

relation to the implant, the options
for spoons.
Universal sleeves like the ones from
Steco and tools are known and can
be used for planning.

2. BENEFITS OF THE SMOP TEMPLATE
• Full visibility on the surgical site
• Better control of the fit
• Allows cooling agent so water going into the osteotomy site reduces the frequency of pumping technique
• Easy to raise a flap
• Easier accessibility for surgical instrument insertion
• Reducing drastically the possibility of errors and distortions due to support the template only on selected stable points on
the teeth and not covering the full surface on the teeth
• This kind of balcony design will keep the flap away from the drill, but no excessive opening/exposure of the flap due to our
guide will not be necessary in contact with that gums
• Extra stabilization due to the use of palatal area. This feature “mucosa support” allows a clinician to proceed with surgery
without a need for further extra stabilization accessories such as pins or screws
• Depending on the implant system and its surgical kit no metal sleeve is needed to guide the drill (e.g. Straumann, Astra,
SIC…). The spoon of the kit can directly be plugged into the plastic-whole of the template. This increases the accuracy of
the drilling and reduces costs by saving the sleeves
Patented best template worldwide. Why the light and open “Spaghetti” design?
