This document discusses a pilot project conducted by Smartta to implement smart metering technologies in 50 municipalities and 90 buildings across 40 municipalities. The pilot project found opportunities to save €5,000 per year in energy costs without investments through smart monitoring and specialists' advice, which can save about 10% of energy consumption. Investments made in pilot programs proved successful, with a specialist team finding that simple measures like improved temperature controls based on outdoor conditions could save up to 9% in energy costs. The conclusions are that smart metering provides opportunities for significant energy savings without investments through monitoring and expert guidance.
