This study examined small-sided games for young Scottish football players using video analysis software. Researchers observed U12 players participating in 4v4, 7v7, and 11v11 games to collect data on their touches, passing, skills, and other metrics. Previous research found that small-sided games are better for developing youth players as 11v11 is too complex. The study aims to inform the debate on youth development and provide recommendations for future policy.
