Scott Wilkinson quit his 150k/year software job to follow his passion of working with kids outdoors. He started the Kids Outdoor Club (KOC) 5 years ago to offer outdoor after-school programs with little competition. Starting with $1,000, KOC now has 50 kids in summer camp, 175 in soccer coaching, and 50 families in afterschool programs. As a small business owner, Scott faces challenges of hiring, branding, defining his audience, and sustaining operations year-round.
