It is a public copyright license that enables the free distribution of a
copyrighted work. a cc license is used when an author wants to give
people the right to share, use and build upon a work that they have
created.
There are different kinds:
CC BY Recognition. It allows others to distribute, mix and make
even with business purposes. As long as it recognize the author.
CC BY-SA Recognition. It allows others remix, modify and
develop over your work even with business purposes. Any work
based on yours would be under the same license.
CC BY-ND Recognition: It allows the redistribution,
commercial or not commercial, of the work as far as this is
not changed. It also has to recognize the author.
CC BY-NC Recognition: It allows remix, adjust and
construct from your work with no business purposes. The
new work do not have to be under the same conditions.
CC BY-NC-SA Recognition: It allows remix, adjust and
construct from your work with no business purposes. The
new work must be under the same conditions.
CC BY-NC-ND Recognition: It permits others to download
the work and share it. You can not change the work in any
way or use it in business purposes.
COPYRIGHT
This symbol is used to indicate that a work
is under author´s royalties; those are a set of
principles and rules that regulate the moral and
patrimonial rights that law grant authors.
COPYLEFT
It allows people with a copy of determinate work
use it without limitation, distribute as many
copies as he/she wants and modify this in any
way.
CREATIVE COMMONS
ZERO LICENSE
It enables creators and owners of copyright
content to put their work on public domain, so
that others could modify and construct upon
them.
