4. So…..Let’s TALK….. Strengths Weaknesses Infrastructure for technology proved to be the area that we were the strongest over the past few years. Our campus did show that we were also improving in all other areas, I was glad to see that there were no numbers that went down, either they stayed the same or increased. I feel that our key area will increase greatly with educator preparation & development, with all of the changes that our district is making. I do agree with the chart’s assessment because I have seen the school continue to increase technology usage and knowledge throughout the school, the past couple years Teachers need to be trained in vertical alignment for their content area TEKS to the technology standards. The weaknesses are most evident in the faculty comfort levels and experience with most technology programs, not including Word and basic understanding of the internet. I am a young teacher myself and there are many things that are still unfamiliar to me and I know many of my colleagues feel the same. Teachers need further training to be able to integrate Technology TEKS into their curriculum. Continual training on campus and at district-level professional developments will make teachers more successful.

6. My Thought on where to start IS…. The Developing Tech level at 34.9% supports my choice to introduce the Infrastructure STaR chart area, as it requires much growth. While there is an alignment with the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, there may be a lack of available funding or grants (especially at this time in many districts) to secure more computers in classrooms as well as provide more technical support staff. It would be to our benefit to get at least two computers in each room of the school, to have students able to work on them.
