During the summer of 2014, 22 students and faculty from four community colleges traveled to Denmark, Sweden and Germany for a faculty-led study abroad program. Participating colleges included Sinclair Community College, Roane State Community College, Pikes Peak Community and College and Columbus State Community College. Our faculty team partnered with Community Colleges for International Development (CCID) and Roskilde Business College in Roskilde, Denmark to plan and implement the program. It was an amazing educational opportunity! Students had an opportunity to study Northern European culture, innovation and entrepreneurship, global marketing, team building, and operations management. Students had a valuable opportunity to interact with Danish students that were studying entrepreneurship, graphic design and website development. We also had a chance to learn about Danish innovation and examined the business aspect of the highly successful Roskilde Festival. Upon our arrival in Berlin, we learned about the rich history of Berlin, toured the former East Berlin area, visited Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and learned about the E.U. and U.S. Trade Negotations Underway from the Danish Embassy. It truly was the trip of a lifetime! We are looking forward to another successful trip in the summer of 2015!
