Editor's Notes
- NIKOLA Hi, my name is Nikola and I will tell you something about our school. The name is Trgovačka škola, which means Trade school.
- NIKOLA The building is located on J. F. Kennedy square which is a popular square with many schools, dormitories and universities. The building is 60 years old and has a status of a national historic landmark.
- NIKOLA The school works in 2 shifts, in 14 classrooms and 2 IT rooms. A part of our classrooms is equipped with LCD monitors and computers since we have eDnevnik in our commercial classes, which is an online classbook.
- IAN Our library is a rich archive of Croatian and world literature and the largest archive of specialised books for our vocational subjects in the county.
- IAN We have a school playground for basketball and football and a newly redocorated gym.
- PAOLA This year the school is a home to 761 students in 2 courses, a salesperson and a commercialist. Salespersons have 3 grades in which they combine theory and practice and after which they can work in various shops. Commercialists have 4 grades after which they can work in the commercial field - offices, bookkeeping and so on.
- PAOLA Our school is becoming more active in international cooperation. This is our first Erasmus+ project, but we have experience in foreign guests visits from belgium, Germany, France and so on. (2 slajda)
- PAOLA The school is also becoming more active in participating in projects. 3 years ago we participated in a project funded by the City of Zagreb where we presented traditional Zagreb crafts. The project was called Moj naklon and we presented it at fairs with great success. (2 slike)
- PAOLA Also, the school is very active in vocational competitions in both courses.
- STJEPAN Our students are active in humanitarian aid so we organize many school fairs where all the raised money goes to charity. For example: 1- Every year we hold a Christmas fair in our school where you can buy advent wreaths (1 slika) 2-Pi Day fair - we sell cakes and find out interesting facts about the number pi (5 slika na 2 slajda) 3- Easter fair - we sell decorated easter eggs to help collect money for school needs (nemamo sliku)
- STJEPAN 4- Pink shirt Day - Anti-Bullying Day - On this day the teachers and students wear pink shirts to raise awareness againts bullying in schools (2 slajda, 2 slike)
- ŽELJKA We also start regular actions where we collect food and clothes for the Red Cross and other organizations that help people in need. (2 slajda, 2 slike)
- ŽELJKA Our students are active in volunteer work and we regularly have actions where we help around the school and work with younger students on raising awareness about healthier lifestyle.
- BARBARA Over the years the school has been very successful at sports events.
- The school has won many awards in football...
- ...athletics...
- ...table tennis, orienteering and so on. We have been successful at local and state championships and tournaments.
- IVA We have many successful ex-students, and we’ll mention only the fields of sports and business. Many of our ex-students have played in the first Croatian national football league and the football national team. We can also boast with famous names in handball. Also, one of our ex-students is Ilija Tokić, the founder of the biggest selling chain of car parts in Croatia
