Disadvantages
1) No emphasis is given on teaching skills or content-taught only the social behaviour is considered.
2) It requires the supervision by training personnel which are generally not available or not devoted to their duties.
3) Simulation attempts to portray the real situations in a simple way, which in general, are very complex and
difficult.
Advantages
Manipulate: Simulation allows students to change parameter values and see what happens. Students develop a
feel for what variables are important and the significance of magnitude changes in parameters.
Motivate: Actively engaging in student-student or instructor-student conversations needed to conduct a
simulation. Instructional simulations by their very nature cannot be passive learning. Students are active
participants in selecting parameter values, anticipating outcomes, and formulating new questions to ask.
Prediction: Simulations help students understand that scientific knowledge rests on the foundation of testable
hypotheses.
Normal Graph
Total mice: 20000
Total owl: 12
In order to run the simulation, we have set the palm tree to the zero number. Since mice had occur so we predict
the population of mice up to 20000. Then the present of owl is 12. Based on the graph we can see the total of the
mice in normal situation but for the palm tree and owl is in panic situation. The graph shows us for the palm tree is
a ascending and that was normal.
Adjusted Graph
Total mice: 30000
Total owl: 19
From the graph we can observe the palm tree in the descending order, while for mice in rapidly increase and owl
are near to the zero point. Situation that we can observe the indicator show all in panic mood
Adjusted Graph
Total mice: 20000
Total owl: 18
From the graph, the total of mice and owl was normal but the increasing of the owl effect a little bit of the result
on the graph. The situation is the owl and the palm tree is in panic condition but not for mice.
