This document proposes a platform called SilverSkill that aims to enhance the social lives and sense of value of retired elders. It notes that elders often have free time and skills to share but lack opportunities. The platform would connect elders with others seeking to learn about elders' life experiences and cultural knowledge. This would broaden elders' social circles and allow them to pass on their expertise. Revenue sources for the platform are proposed like membership and production fees from organized learning activities. Initial user interviews found elders interested in activities like gardening, hiking and cooking and willing to share if encouraged, while adults saw value in history and culture.
