• During the 17th century, the Prince of Kota - Rao Kishore Singh - bought some
weavers family from Mysore. These families later settled in Kaithoon village near
Kota, creating the fine art of Kota Doria.

• Uppada Jamdani saree style is woven in the Village Uppada of Andhra Pradesh,
India.
• The Jamdani style of weaving originated in Bangladesh and during the 18th

Patola weaving was known during the 4th Century in “Ajanta” caves, which

repeated for each color that is to be included in the finished cloth.
• In Jain and Hindu communities, double ikat saris with designs of parrots, flowers,
elephant, and dancing figures were generally used whereas in Muslim
communities, saris with geometric designs and floral patterns were typical.
• They are known for their colorful diversity and geometrical style.
