Amanda Tucker completed a spring internship with Coffee Fest, a company that produces specialty coffee and tea trade shows. Her goals for the internship were to learn about the specialty coffee trade show market, compare Coffee Fest to other events, and gauge how her education prepared her for the job market. She assisted with tasks like cleaning the attendee database, creating educational programing, sending registration confirmations, and working with the registration subcontractor. Through projects and problem-solving, she gained experience in work ethic, professionalism, communication, and event planning. Her coursework helped her understand why aspects of planning were important and make educated suggestions.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on Blockchain
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.

We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

- 1. This was a seminar on LinkedIn I attended. Before the event I knew nothing about the professional social network. I listened carefully during the seminar, took notes and asked questions. The seminar taught me a lot about using LinkedIn as a job- seeking tool. I setup an account thereafter. My account profile strength grew from beginning to expert within a week, tanks to the seminar. LinkedIn right now is the key element of my job hunting mechanism.
- 2. I was giving a presentation on Canadian Water Consumption, a social problem research project. This was a GNED500 assignment during which I studied Canadian water resources, the way Canadian use with water and outcome. Speaking in front of people made me a little nervous. I believe that practice makes perfect. So before the presentation I checked every word pronunciation carefully and ensure no confusing. During the presentation I spoke slowly and clearly. The respond was good. The presentation improves my public speaking skills.
- 3. Photo shows five of us were in a group meeting. As member of team I Participated a group work project named Status of Canadian Business. In that project I focused on Canadian technology industry. During the whole project process I shared my views openly and willingly with others, asked others opinions. I responded to requests for assistance from team members to get work done. We approved the final report and our presentation got good mark at end. I learnt that cooperation is the key to success.
- 4. This is my certificate in English for Academic Purposes. I devoted three semesters on the program. In class I listened carefully and asked questions. After school hours I found time to read newspapers and books to increase my vocabulary. At end I improved my English from level one to level three and was qualified to attend Business program.
- 5. I was in computer lab for Payroll. Computer skill was my weakest link. I take advantage of the college IT resources in school. At home and during the commuting I use my own laptop or tablet to practice. Before I knew a little about computers after studying I knew how to use famous software like Quick Books. Microsoft Office suite are my favourite tools. I can operate office equipment such as fax machine, photocopier, printer and scanner.
