Comments from Google UK Sales Director Dr. Bernd Fauser on video:
• Some of the top reasons people watch videos online are travel related – 27% to relax
and escape, 45% to be entertained and inspired, 14% to pursue a hobby.
• Almost 50% of travellers use online video in some shape or form before deciding
where to go on holiday.
• Attendees also heard how consumers are using video to make critical trip purchasing
decisions – 65% when they are thinking about taking a trip, 67% when choosing a
destination, 67% when looking for ideas for activities, 63% when deciding on
accommodation and 26% when deciding which website to book on.
• Video plays a vital role for brands because most consumers are undecided about
what companies to book with and find it hard to differentiate between them.
Creating and sharing digital video is easy……or so they say!
First you need to create a storyboard for your video,
prepare a shot list and then get a film crew together.
Once you’ve filmed, you need to do some digital editing -
which can be a bit more complicated than initially thought!
Once you’re finished editing, you then need to export your video
in the correct formats to share across social media platforms.
There are loads of filming & editing apps
available, but they don’t cover the full process.

assist them with their travel choices, Shoot2Share will allow travel journalists, travel bloggers,
TripAdvisor contributors, travellers and the Turkish Airline bloggers to create videos quickly and cost
effectively with just their mobile phones. While travelling to a destination for five-day trip, a traveller could
create up to 45 videos covering:
• 2 x airport reviews
• 2 x airline reviews
• 1 x airport arrival video
• 5 x hotel reviews
• 15 x restaurant / meal reviews
• 5 x local drinks reviews
• 10 x activity / shopping / experiences / entertainment reviews
• 3 x travel tips
• 2 x travel tech tips
