This document discusses employee training. It defines training as improving an employee's ability to perform their job through changing their skills, knowledge, attitude, or behavior. Training aims to increase what employees know and how they work. There are different types of training like induction, job, promotion, and refresher training. The training process involves assessing needs, designing a program, implementing it, and evaluating results. Common training methods are on-the-job and off-the-job training. On-the-job training occurs while working, and off-the-job uses methods like lectures, demonstrations, and simulations away from the workplace. Programs are evaluated using tests, comparing pre-and post-performance, or experimental control groups

6. METHODS OF TRAINING
1. On-the job training
2. Off –the job training
ON THE JOB TRAINING:
This type of training is also known as job instruction
training, is the most commonly used method. Under this
method the individual is placed on a regular job and certain
skills are taught that are necessary to perform that job.
The trainee learns under the supervision and guidance of a
qualified worker or instructor. On the job training has the
advantage of giving first hand knowledge and experience
under the actual working conditions.
7. OFF THE JOB TRAINING:-
The training away from the work place is called off the job training.
It consists of many techniques like :
• class room lectures
• Films,
• Demonstration
• Case study,
• Simulation
• Programmed instructions
• Vestibule training
• Computer modeling.
8. Evaluation of training programmes
It is not possible to say that any one of the training method is
effective. The evaluation of training programme can be done in
the following ways.
Test-retest method
Pre-post performance method
Experimental control group method
