Microsoft offers two certification paths for SharePoint 2013 developers: the Microsoft Certified Solutions Master (MCSM) in SharePoint and the Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) in SharePoint. The MCSD in SharePoint requires candidates to pass four exams covering HTML5, ASP.NET MVC, and SharePoint core and advanced solutions development. The MCSM in SharePoint builds on the MCSD and requires candidates to pass the MCSD exams plus two additional exams covering SharePoint lab and knowledge assessments. Recertification is required every two to three years to maintain the MCSD certification.
