Editor's Notes

  • #3 Twitter
  • #8 I met some of you before the session. For those that don't know me, my name's Tom Resing. I'm a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in 4 areas related to SharePoint. I'm certified in configuring WSSv3, configuring MOSS, and application development for both of them.My first programming job was in high school in Washington, DC. I got my Computer Science Degree from Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois almost 12 years ago. I've been in the technology field my entire career.
  • #10 We know some things changed in SharePoint 2013 or why have a new version right? But what’s different about this version? What was the strategy behind the effort the sharePoint product team put into the new product? Generally, Microsoft asks its most important customers for what they need in the new version. This version was no different, but the customer might be different than you might be thinking.
  • #11 When you think about what changed in SharePoint 2013, think about Office 365 and SharePoint Online.
  • #12 When you think about what changed in SharePoint 2013, think about Office 365. Microsoft has made a huge push to improve it and a lot of the work they’ve done supports the needs of Office 365. HHNSC is on example of that.
  • #13 SharePoint 2010 Corporate Portal Design Sample
  • #14 This is a clip from the new Corporate Portal Design Sample from TechNet.Notice one web application across the top.
  • #16 If you’ve ever created a web application in SharePoint before, you’re used to seeing Windows Integrated Authentication as the default method. This changes in 2013. What does this mean for you? If you've had issues with claims in the past, you may want to revisit the issues. Its clear from this change that Microsoft is firmly nudging us in the claims direction. However, there is still room for non claims auth.
