Who is Yoga Guru?
As an AI language model, I am not a yoga guru, but I can provide you with information about yoga and its benefits. Yoga is a practice that originated in ancient India, and it involves physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
A yoga guru is a person who has dedicated their life to the practice and teaching of yoga. They have deep knowledge and experience in various forms of yoga and are considered experts in the field. A yoga guru can guide students in their yoga practice, help them develop a deeper understanding of yoga philosophy, and provide them with tools to improve their physical and mental health.
If you're interested in practicing yoga, you can start by finding a qualified yoga instructor in your area. They can guide you through the various postures and breathing exercises, and help you develop a personalized yoga practice that suits your individual needs and goals.
Enhancing Management of metabolic syndrome and Type 2 diabetes mellitus throu...Yogacharya AB Bhavanani
Yogacharya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani's invited presentation on "Enhancing Management of metabolic syndrome and Type 2 diabetes mellitus through Yoga" at Samanvaya – 2018, a National Conference on ‘Integrative Diabetology – Present Trend in Diabetes Care’ organised by Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education & Research, Kolar, Karnataka (SDUAHER), to update the recent trends in the field of integrative medicine and its integration with conventional care.
Yoga as a mode of therapy has become extremely popular, and a great number of studies and systematic reviews offer scientific evidence of its potential in treating a wide range of psychosomatic conditions. Healthy life can be considered as a by-product of practicing yogic techniques since it has been observed that yoga practitioners are physically and mentally healthier and have better coping skills to stressors than the normal population. This review paper details some of the health promoting benefits of yoga as well as discusses the important cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal and metabolic conditions in which it may have preventive, supportive, curative and rehabilitative potential. Role of yoga in stress, mental health, cancer, pregnancy and childhood are also detailed. Mechanisms for such beneficial physiological, biochemical and psychological effects are discussed. Psycho-neuro-endocrine changes including correction of GABAergic activity, and parasympathetic activation coupled with decreased reactivity of sympathoadrenal system and HPA axis are highlighted. Changes in the various evaluated parameters for different conditions are detailed and discussed with ample references. Though most studies and reviews suggest a number of areas where yoga may be beneficial, more research is required for virtually every one of them to establish their benefits conclusively. This is true in the process of introducing any new therapy into the modern health care system and is not surprising when we consider that the proper studies on yoga as a therapeutic modality are not older than a few decades. It is important to develop objective measures of various mind-body therapies and their techniques while including them in intervention trials. An overview is given of the lacunae present in the reviewed studies and suggestions given for improvements in future studies. In conclusion, we can say that yoga has preventive, promotive as well as curative potential and that a yogic lifestyle confers many advantages to the practitioner. Since lifestyle related diseases are alarmingly on the rise in our modern society, yogic lifestyle that is cost effective and relatively safe, should be given a special place in preventing and managing these diseases.
Joseph and Lilian le Page, the founders of Integrative Yoga Therapy, USA were recently in India on a mission to make a film on Yoga therapy and travelled across the county recording therapeutic activities of premier Yoga centers. After their visit to CYTER they commented,
“There are many centers where you can get a Yoga degree, attend a Yoga therapy session or find Yoga research being undertaken. However, to have all three happening in one place is surely innovative. This center is indeed a role-model that combines the best of the East with that of the West.”
That is what we have here at CYTER. An integrated set up where we are educating future Yoga therapists while simultaneously helping patients recover from their illnesses and at the same time working towards developing an understanding about the ‘Hows & Whys’ of Yoga through scientific research.
Whereas Yoga is usually found in the Physical Education and Sports Department of most universities, we at CYTER have it in a medical institution thus enhancing the learning curve of our trainees as also enabling us to offer holistic therapeutic benefits for all patients in our hospital. Yoga consultations are part and parcel of all the Master Health checkups offered by our Hospital services thus integrating the modern and the ancient even at the entry level itself. Such quality of life enhancing benefits for nearly 6000 patients at MGMCRI&RI are another truly innovative aspect of the work here at CYTER.
Our PG Diploma in Yoga Therapy (PGDYT) is one of the innovative courses in the world as it is offered through a medical institution and brings together the ancient wisdom of Yoga with the evidence based approach of modern medicine. We have two batches of students enrolled in the course and classes are going on regularly for first semester batch while the second semester batch completed their examinations in August 2014. During our Deputy Director’s recent lecture tour down under many medical, paramedical and Yoga professionals evidenced keen interest in attending such a course from the next academic year, making its truly international in participation.
We have also given training to nursing students, faculty members, senior citizens, special children and transgender participants and published 28 papers and 9 abstracts on the short and long term, health enhancing benefits of such training and therapeutic programmes. Current research studies are focusing on obesity, computer vision syndrome and depression in the transgender community. MBBS students have been exposed to Yoga through special sessions and we suggest that the CYTER model be adopted by all innovative medical colleges when the new MCI regulations on inclusion of Yoga in MBBS curriculum are implemented.
Learning Yoga for teaching and therapeutic purpose requires opting for a reliable program. Yoga Therapy program Ontario is designed keeping this in mind.

Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating durable images by recording light, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film.
This is the real secret of the yoga practice. When we learn not only to breathe with the postures, but actually breathe them, we can enter into a place where our focus and attention is so unified that there’s nowhere else to be but inside our bodies. This is the root meaning of yoga in Sanskrit: “union.” This can be such a sweet experience that a friend of mine once described it as “the feeling of someone brushing your fur in the right direction.” That might sound nuts—until you try it. Here’s how:
First you must understand that breath already is movement. Take a deep breath and notice what happens. On the inhale, you get a little bigger, and more expansive: your belly and chest rise. As you exhale, you get a little smaller, a little denser: your belly and chest contract. The inhale has an upward flowing energy, called prana. The exhale is a downward flowing energy called apana.
The Yoga Sūtra of Patañjali is a collection of Sanskrit sutras (aphorisms) on the theory and practice of yoga - 195 sutras (according to Vyāsa and Krishnamacharya) and 196 sutras (according to other scholars including BKS Iyengar). The Yoga Sutra was compiled sometime between 500 BC and AD400 by the sage Patanjali in India who synthesized and organized knowledge about yoga from much older traditions.[1][2][3] The Yoga Sūtra of Patañjali was the most translated ancient Indian text in the medieval era, having been translated into about forty Indian languages and two non-Indian languages: Old Javanese and Arabic.[4] The text fell into relative obscurity for nearly 700 years from the 12th to 19th century, and made a comeback in late 19th century due to the efforts of Swami Vivekananda, the Theosophical Society and others. It gained prominence again as a comeback classic in the 20th century.[5]

Introduction :Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and scince of healthy living. The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to yoke' or 'to unite'.
What is the art of yoga?
Yoga is a portable art form, free from costly equipment and supplies. All it requires is a sense of adventure and a willingness to explore the vastness of the Self. ... The art of life is life as art. Yoga means joining together what we do with who we are: Love itself.
Ashtanga yoga (Sanskrit: aṣṭāṅgayoga[1], "the eight limbs of yoga") is Patanjali's classification of classical yoga, as set out in his Yoga Sutras. He defined the eight limbs as yamas (abstinences), niyama (observances), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara (withdrawal), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation) and samadhi (absorption).
The eight limbs form a sequence from the outer to the inner. Postures, important in modern yoga as exercise, form one limb of Patanjali's scheme; he states only that they must be steady and comfortable.
The science of yoga is the scientific basis of modern yoga as exercise in human sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and psychology. Yoga's effects are to some extent shared with other forms of exercise,[O 1] though it differs in the amount of stretching involved, and because of its frequent use of long holds and relaxation, in its ability to reduce stress. Yoga is here treated separately from meditation, which has effects of its own, though yoga and meditation are combined in some schools of yoga.
Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. Yoga is one of the six Āstika schools of Indian philosophical traditions. There is a broad variety of yoga schools, practices, and goals in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.

Course programme
The fact remains that most fitness programmes are organized and run outside
of the schools and that most yoga trainers and leaders in these programmes have little
training. People want to exercise in a way that provides no medical risk and also
ensures that they reach their fitness goals quickly. This requires some experience,
which is what certification is meant to ensure. With the fitness industry growing so
rapidly, it becomes increasingly important that persons at all levels in the industry
have specific training to do their jobs competently.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
1. To produce well-trained yoga Teachers
2. To spread the message of positive health as taught in yoga to people in
a systematic and scientific manner.
3. To provide a proper perspective and insight into various aspects of
yoga education to the trainees

Ayurveda states that the purpose of life is to realize our true nature, and to express this in one’s daily
life. The Ayurvedic Studies Programs (ASP) integrate the practical, philosophical, and spiritual
insight of Ayurveda into professional training programs that support you in becoming an Ayurvedic
professional capable of serving others in realizing their true nature and the expression of it in their
daily life.
11. Ayurveda is the science of self-healing. Here, we recognize, that in order to support others in their
healing, we must authentically engage in our own. As a student at The Ayurvedic Institute you will be
asked to engage in self-inquiry, grow in your understanding of self through an Ayurvedic perspective,
and apply what you are learning to your own life. It is a program that will transform who you are,
support you in realizing your true nature, and help you express that nature in the world.
Ayurvedic Studies Program, Level 1
The Ayurvedic Studies Program, Level 1 (ASP1), is the foundation of the educational programs
offered at The Ayurvedic Institute. Students acquire a thorough understanding of the principles and
practices of Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle, Sanskrit, Ayuryoga, anatomy and physiology, and client
relationships. ASP1 is also considered a time to increase self-awareness, self-nurturance,
community building, and rigorous study of Ayurvedic knowledge and practices. In each week of this
program, an estimated 50-60 hours is dedicated to lecture, class, study, and practice including
applied application outside of the classroom.
