3. PROJECTS AND CONFERENCES:
1. Techno Economic Study of Concentrated Solar Thermal Systems for Industrial
Application.
Description:
This project mainly focus on developing and testing new environmental parameters and more efficient
concepts for parabolic trough collectors using water as the heat transfer medium in direct mode of
operation. Solar trough collectors offers a considerable reduction in cost due to less need for equipment
and maintenance when compared to conventional technology typically uses synthetic oils as the heat
transfer fluid that needs heat exchangers to produce the steam in indirect mode of operation. In many high
temperature industrial processes, an external heat source is used to provide the necessary energy to start
and to maintain some processes. This heat originates either from electricity or from fossil fuel
combustion. Concentrated solar thermal systems can replace them as a source of heat making for
industrial processes. This makes the cleaner technology utilization in the industries and reducing
greenhouse gas emissions.
2. Feasibility Study of Hydrogen Production from Renewable Energy sources and Energy saving
Potential in Dairy Industry.
Description:
Presented as a Minor project at Post graduate level. Here the comparative analysis of Hydrogen
production from solar based water electrolysis Vs. Biomass Gasification is experimented and Energy
Auditing is carried out in a Dairy industry to endorse Energy conservation
3. Extraction of Alternate fuel from waste plastics for IC Engines.
Description:
In our project we extract petrol and diesel equivalent fuels from waste polyethylene bags, we tested the
fuels for their properties and we made to run the petrol and diesel engines by using our synthetic fuels, the
engine gives more or less equal performance as that of traditional fuel. The fuel quality is achieved by the
controlled catalytic reaction and temperature control. Finally we concluded that there is no need of any
changes in the existing engine design for using our synthetic fuels.
4. Automatic Speed Controller in selective zones.
Description:
In our project we did speed controller in selective zones like schools, hospitals, theatres etc.The speed
was controlled by solenoid valves which was fitted before the fuel enter. The solenoid valve was activated
due to the transmitter gives the signal to receiver circuit. The circuit which was fitted to the engine was
necessary and it gives voltage to the solenoid valves.
FIELD OF INTEREST:
Solar PV plant.
Solar Thermal.
Waste to Energy Technologies
4. Bio fuels and fuel cell.
