Global warming is occurring as evidenced by rising sea levels and shrinking ice sheets. Between 2005 and 2007, the ice sheets shrank from 5.3 million to 4.1 million, demonstrating the rapid melting of ice and rising heat. To help address global warming, individuals should reduce their energy usage by using more efficient light bulbs, cleaning heating and cooling systems, and only running appliances like dishwashers and washing machines when full to lessen energy waste.
