Gender Identity
- based on what we think and feel

another gender, regardless of anatomy.
Different Categories of GENDER IDENTITY:
Cisgender- gender identity matches with sex
Transgender- GENDER IDENTITY does not match
with sex
QUESTIONING- unsure of GENDER IDENTITY
QUEER, GENDER FLUID, NON-BINARY- “Manness” or
womanness” does not play a vital role in
their everyday life.
Gender Expression
-External appearance of a person’s gender, usually
expressed through behavior, clothing, haircut or voice, and
which may or may not conform to socially defined behaviors
and characteristics typically associated with being either
masculine or feminine.

Refers to a person’s emotional, romantic,
and sexual attraction to persons of the same
and/or different sex.
HETEROSEXUAL
Refers to a person who is
emotionally, romantically, and

sexually attracted to both
men/males and
women/females.
GAY
Refers to a person who is emotionally, romantically,
and sexually attracted to people of the same sex.
LESBIAN
Refers to a woman who is emotionally, romantically,
and sexually attracted to other women.
BISEXUAL
Refers to a person who is
emotionally, romantically, and
sexually attracted to both
men/males and women/females.
-Not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological
sex, gender, or gender identity.
PANSEXUAL

-Refers to a person who does not experience
sexual attraction to other people.
IN SUMMARY

We should learn to understand each other because we are all
unique.

we need to understand SOGIE.
