This document outlines an aim and objectives for a unit on injuries in sports. It identifies volleyball, tennis, and marathon running as sports where injuries may occur. For each sport, common injuries are listed such as concussions, dislocations, and overuse injuries for volleyball, sprains and strains for tennis, and blisters, sprains, and bruises for marathons. Prevention methods are also discussed, such as using splints, bandages, proper warmups, knee supports, insoles, and bunion shields. Students are assigned a task to create a poster explaining one injury from each sport.
