Server room cable clean up Project
The project involves installing a new two post open rack to house telco equipment, reusing an old IBM server rack for Windows servers, and relocating equipment between the new and old racks. Vicom will migrate the IBM servers and be responsible for reconnecting patch cables between the IBM rack and network switch. The project is estimated to take up to 5 days to complete.
Server room cable clean up Project
- 1. Overview Project New twopost open rack will be installed to house Telco equipment (such as router/switch/firewall/WAAS/patch panel), Old 4 Post 38U rack will be empty out then retired. Old full size 46U rack (which was housing IBM servers)will be re-used to house windows servers. New Rack & cable management bracket will be installed after business hour once IBM Vendor (Vicom) has completed their migration process. Vicom will take the responsibility of patching cables Between New IBM server RACK and Network Switch. The project can take up to maximum of 5 days. Scope of Work Exemption and analyze/visual inspect current rack population Design & build new rack population layout Relocate & re-seat equipment's to new Two 2 Post open rack Empty out old 36U rack and relocate all the devices to new 2 Post open rack & old IBM serverack Mark & Label patch cable(such as router, firewall, servers), install cable management bracket , Re-connect all the patch cable back to appropriate devices
