Mt 13:15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'
EVANGELISM 101: Lesson 1 - Biblical Foundations of EvangelismFrancis Hernandez
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
"It (Evangelism) comes from the same Greek word for gospel (euangelion) and means, literally, “gospeling.” When we evangelize we are “gospeling” — we are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ." - https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/what-evangelism/
Every Christian is called to do the divine task of evangelism. Evangelism is a task not just for the select churches, or for the evangelists or pastors. This is Lesson 1 of EVANGELISM 101 Series. Given last April 23, 2021 at HOPE Christian Fellowship in Guinobatan, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines by Ptr. Francis S. Hernandez.

A quick view of the heavens and its hosts. Understanding Who the creator is, and who and what are the created things. We must worship the Creator and not the created things.
Genuine Christian Faith, is to believe in everything God has said and done in His written Word: the Bible. It is to believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary to save whomever would like to be saved. It is to trust in God all the time. It is to live according to what the Bible says: “The just shall live by faith” Habakkuk 2:4; Hebrews 10:38.
Where is God when it hurts? Doesn't God care when we pass through the storms of life? And if He does, why not simply navigate the storms away from dedicated disciples of Christ? This lesson seeks to reinforce the truth that the "storms" of life come even to the most dedicated of disciples. The only question is how we will handle the storms as they come.
How can we discern direction in life? What are reliable and unreliable sources of knowledge for Christians? How can Christian believers understand what God wants them to do? Using biblical insight, philosophical theology, and experience from over 30 years as a Christian believer, this lesson shares valuable truths about how to Know God's Will.

Watch and Pray – How to?
Text:
Luke 21:34-38 (NIV) – “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives, and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.
Target Audience:
Union Church of Monterrey members and eventual visitors
Objective:
Instruct regarding the Bible (Jesus) teachings about what to be watchful for and to continually pray, and the end result of this.
If you have attended a Christian church for any length of time how has your life measurably improved? What have you learned about God, the world and yourself that you most likely would not have known apart from attending? What part does the Bible have in your Christian experience and growth? The epistle of James is a practical pedagogy, written to persecuted Messianic Jews, highly relevant to today's Christians.
The Bible is all we need in order to live life and spread the good news of the gospel of Christ. While many deny it's authority, it gives us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

3. Hebrews 2:1-2 (NIV)
We must pay the most careful attention,
therefore, to what we have heard, so that
we do not drift away. 2 For since the
message spoken through angels was
binding, and every violation and
disobedience received its just
punishment,
4. •The world is filled with voices and
many distractions
•We can be lured into the comfort
of “Normalcy”
•This can take us off the path
5. James1:22-25 (NIV)
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and
so deceive yourselves. Do what it
says.23 Anyone who listens to the word
but does not do what it says is like
someone who looks at his face in a
mirror 24 and, after looking at himself,
goes away and immediately forgets what
he looks like. 25 But whoever looks
intently into the perfect law that gives
freedom, and continues in it—not
forgetting what they have heard, but doing
it—they will be blessed in what they do.
7. Hebrews 2:1-2 (NIV)
We must pay the most careful attention,
therefore, to what we have heard, so that
we do not drift away. 2 For since the
message spoken through angels was
binding, and every violation and
disobedience received its just
punishment,
8. To “slip away”
To go in the wrong
direction
*To drift (as a ship
that is carried off by
the current)
What does it mean to “drift away”?
9. 1. My sense of wonder wanes
2. Nearness to God feels like ancient history
3. My love and desire for God’s Word falls short of
what I see in Psalm 119 (Walk acc. to God)
4. The realities of heaven and hell fade into the
background
5. I am unaware of the ever present “pull” of the
world, the flesh, and the devil
6. Prayer, Bible study, sharing, and going to church
are a duty, not a delight
7. I lack joy and gratitude to God and don’t recognize
it.
8. I’m looking for something “more” outside
Scripture, and outside of Christ
I am drifting when . . .
10. Matthew 13:18-23 (NIV)
18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and
does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches
away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown
along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to
someone who hears the word and at once receives it with
joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short
time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the
word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the
thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the
worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke
the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on
good soil refers to someone who hears the word and
understands it. This is the one who produces a crop,
yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”.
12. Hebrews 2:3-4 (NIV)
3 how shall we escape if we ignore so
great a salvation? This salvation, which
was first announced by the Lord, was
confirmed to us by those who heard
him. 4 God also testified to it by signs,
wonders and various miracles, and by
gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed
according to his will.
13. The writer goes on to say that this salvation is
validated in four ways:
it was announced by the Lord himself,
it was confirmed to us by those who heard him,
God confirmed it by miracles, and
God confirmed it by distributing the gifts of the
Holy Spirit.
14. Encouragement
1. Let us strive to remain attuned to
Christ
2. Be very careful of who we are and
to whom we belong
3. Never ever trade in your faith for
anything that will fail.
