The 5 Most Important Things We
Can Do To Reach People For Christ
The most overlooked
principle for church growth is
we have to love people the
way Jesus did. That’s it!
The motive behind
everything we do at
LifePointe is that we love
and care about lost people.
The reason Jesus attracted
such large crowds is
because He loved people.
To reach non-Christians,
we have to move outside our
comfort zone and do things
that often feel awkward
and uncomfortable.
It takes unselfish people to
grow a church. Lost people
have a lot of problems and
their lives are messy.
Bridging the
credibility gap -
Does our Christianity
work?
Do all you can to live a peaceful
life. Mind your own business,
and earn your own living,
as we told you before.
If you do these things,
then those who are not believers
will respect the way you live.
(1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 – Easy To Read Version)
KEY THOUGHT:
We have to earn the
right to be heard!
We reach the lost by our
words but even more
so by our lives
People who do not believe are
living all around you and might
say that you are doing wrong.
Live such good lives that they
will see the good things you do
and will give glory to God
on the day when Christ
comes again.
(1 Peter 2:12 – New Century Version)
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if the salt loses its saltiness,
how can it be made salty
again? . . . “You are the
light of the world.
A town built on a hill cannot be
hidden. Neither do people light
a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand,
and it gives light to everyone in
the house. In the same way, let
your light shine before others,
that they may see your
good deeds and glorify your
Father in heaven.
(Matthew 5:13-16 – New Living Translation)
Be different
Do something
KEY THOUGHT:
Our Christianity should be
obvious before we ever
open our mouths!
We must be purposeful,
be proactive &
be prepared
Live wisely among those who
are not believers, and make the
most of every opportunity.
Let your conversation be
gracious and attractive so
that you will have the right
response for everyone.
(Colossians 4:5-6 – New Living Translation)
Be wise in the way you act
toward those who are outside
the Christian faith. Make the
most of your opportunities.
Everything you say should be kind
and well thought out so that you
know how to answer everyone.
(Colossians 4:5-6 – God’s Word Translation)
KEY THOUGHT:
Non-Christians are very
open to our message if we
present it in the right way
We should do everything
we can to reach those
who need Jesus
I have freely and happily become
a servant of any and all so that I
can win them to Christ.
When I am with the Jews I seem
as one of them so that they will
listen to the Gospel and I can
win them to Christ. When I am
with Gentiles . . .
I don’t argue, even though I don’t
agree, because I want to help
them. When with the heathen I
agree with them as much as I can
and so, by agreeing,
I can win their confidence
and help them too . . .
Yes, whatever a person is like,
I try to find common ground
with him so that he will let me
tell him about Christ and let
Christ save him.
I do this to get the Gospel to them
and also for the blessing
I myself receive when I see
them come to Christ.
(1 Corinthians 9:19-23 – Living Bible)
KEY THOUGHT:
If reaching people for Christ is
not a priority in our lives we
are missing a huge blessing
Sharing Jesus is an
awesome privilege &
responsibility
I am obligated both to Greeks
and non-Greeks, both to the wise
and the foolish. That is why I am
so eager to preach the gospel
also to you who are in Rome.
For I am not ashamed of the
gospel, because it is the power
of God that brings salvation to
everyone who believes:
first to the Jew,
then to the Gentile.
(Romans 1:14-16 - New International Version)
Overwhelming burden
All consuming passion
Undergirding conviction
KEY THOUGHT:
The Gospel has the power
to change anyone’s life,
if we just share it
