We must not stop wrestling with these
questions.

4. • The key understanding, as Disciples of
Jesus, is HIS PRIMARY TEACHING…
“The Kingdom of God.” (list the many references he gave)
Matthew 6:31-33
– 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we
eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall
we wear?’ 32 For the multitudes run after all
these things, and your heavenly Father knows
that you need them. 33 But seek first his
kingdom and his righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well.

5. “The Kingdom of God.” defined…
• So what does it mean to “Seek first the
Kingdom of God” ???
– Where is He?
– What is He up to?
– Where is His heart?
“God’s activity in our World. It is His
“reigning”… His “ruling” and His
ACTIVE and LOVING involvement in
the World.”

6. Word #2 = AMONG.
John 1:14
14 The Word became a human
and lived AMONG us. We saw his
glory -- the glory that belongs to
the only Son of the Father -- and
he was full of grace and truth.

7. 20 So he got up and went to his
father. “But while he was still a long
way off, his father saw him and was
filled with compassion for him; HE
RAN to his son, threw his arms
around him and kissed him.

“Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up

Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who
need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come
to call the righteous, but sinners.”

boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged
to go with him. 19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go
home to your own people and tell them how much the
Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on
you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the
Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the
people were amazed.

“among” our friends and neighbours we oozed a
real, and pervasive experience of Joy?

(rules), but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy
Spirit (The Kingdom of God).

 Righteousness = state of one who is as they ought to be
 Peace = the tranquil state of an assured soul and so fearing nothing
from God; one who is content with their lot in life.
 Joy = Gladness.
