Greg Holladay has been asked to chair a new Climate Working Group at the American Forest & Paper Association. He is trying to determine the time commitment required. The AF&PA has formed a Climate Advisory Group to provide guidance on climate issues following the President's climate initiative announcement. A Climate Working Group is being formed to support the advisory group's mission on manufacturing and recycling sector issues. Members are being sought from the AF&PA's Air Quality Committee for the working group. The advisory and working groups will hold a joint meeting on May 21st to discuss goals and lay out an action plan.

• Formation of Climate Working Group
• The next step is the formation of a Climate Working Group to support the
• Climate Advisory Group's mission. The existing Global Climate Forestry
• Task Group will serve this function for forestry related issues. On the
• manufacturing side, a new group needs to be formed to track domestic and
• international activities and implement the approaches outlined by the
• advisory group. We are seeking representation from the manufacturing and
• recycling sectors of the industry for this Group and hope that several
• members of the Air Quality Committee will be interested in participating.
• Meeting of Climate Advisory and Working Groups - 5/21/02
• The AF&PA Climate Advisory Group has decided to hold a joint Advisory and
• Working Groups meeting on Tuesday, May 21st in Washington, D.C . The
• purpose of the meeting is to discuss AF&PA's goals and objectives and lay
• out an action plan for achieving those objectives. Larisa Dobriansky with
• DOE has been invited to discuss the Administration's plans for revising
• the current voluntary greenhouse gas emission reporting scheme.
