Giovana Anderson is a food engineer and MS student in food safety and animal sciences at NDSU. She previously worked as the assistant manager of the NDSU Meat Lab. Her background includes inspecting farmers markets and municipal markets in Brazil as a food inspector. Some of her responsibilities involved scheduling visits, inspecting stands, and educating vendors on food safety and hygiene practices. She has experience analyzing microbiological samples from artisan cheese for compliance with food safety standards. Her research at NDSU includes examining the effects of pre-pubertal diet and growth promotants in beef on puberty attainment and body composition in pigs as a model for humans.
